Hi, reported elsewhere that 2 x Typhoons due today. 1430 was suggested. Anyone able to confirm?

Yeah the noise was something else. Remember seeing them at Lossie some years ago when I think it was 12,14,15,617 based there - Tonkas everywhere.

Hard to believe it's 5 years since the Tonka last flight on 14/3/19. Some video of the GR4 visits to NI.

I heard that Wildcat rumour mentioned but that was some time ago. Was there a more recent confirmation?

Do we know if the Islanders are back to temporarily take on some of the gaps left by Gazelle dept? I take it 5 reg are gone now totally? I'd assume all the boots on ground aren't needed now.

AAC502 seems to be out and about today - not sure if this was out of Aldergrove, or came in from somewhere else? Up on 118.300 now.

Absolutely brilliant shots! Caught these at Aldergrove this morning. Really sad to see them go after having them here for what feels like forever.

Is that the last of the Gazelles gone from Aldergrove or was this just the "formal farewell"?

I would surmise that the policing is more to do with the setup at Aldergrove to support them during deployments away from main base at Coningsby or Lossiemouth. Perhaps we'll see more of them in the future.

Yep reckon (and hope) that is the case.

Was planning a run up at 2pm but looks like the 1200 surprised everyone. They had gone up the east coast of England, through Scotland before approaching NI from the NE. Maybe this was the "policing sortie" that was mentioned.

So that is them leaving for good on the same day? Thanks for the heads up.

Typhoon due in tonight 1850 apparently after a flypast at HMS Caroline in Belfast 1830.

I'm likely to be in the area about 5-6 days before RIAT. I assume that is too early for any of the arrivals, but still worth a punt to see something different? A real shame the bombers are gone though.
