Trip through Europe
Hi all, Last week, from 25 July until Saturday 31 I made a trip through Europe. Being fully vaccinated, checked all the countries I would visit and their COVID measures, we were safe to go. Drove with the car through 8 different and haven't been asked about the COVID QR code once. So, let's start. 2...

50 of the original AH1s are being stripped of spares and equipment, then disposed of. 50 new AH-64Es are being built, and fitted with some of the equipment removed from the AH1s. Thanks for the clear answer Tom. Jos No problem Jos, glad to help. Also, they are NOT called Apache AH2, they are Apache...

Are the AH1 Apaches being phased out, with all of them being replaced by AH2's? Jos 50 of the original AH1s are being stripped of spares and equipment, then disposed of. 50 new AH-64Es are being built, and fitted with some of the equipment removed from the AH1s. Thanks for the clear answer Tom. Jos

Re: Vermont ANG, US Trip 2007
Hi Stewart,
Love those photos, especially the F16s in the shelters.
However, the F16s you shown aren't QRA as their weapons have the remarkable blue lines on it. With live ammo those are yellow.

Re: Marham 5&6th of August
Thanks!
I think so. Followed the Marham movements topic closely and it's kind of daily routine that around 0930 a flight of 2 goes up, around 1200 (sometimes) and around 1530.
Hope that helps!

Marham 5&6th of August
Marham is just a quick drive from Lakenheath, so when we saw there was a flight of 2 airborne we went and waited. On Wednesday Ghost flight came in, and Thursday we had DOOM flight coming in after some refueling with a RAF A330, in hoover mode. :thumb: 1.) https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/5020787...

Fairford Monday 3rd
Visiting from Holland the first stop was Fairford. With the U2 normally departing around 0900 we were just on time (we thought). Finally, just after 1300 the U2 started up, and after some hours waiting, it was more than worth it. (thanks Neill and other for providing the info) 1.) https://live.stati...

Still outside with canopy open and remove before flight underneath the cockpit removed. Bird control did a round over the runway as well. Still hoping for the best.
