Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread

Each to their own naturally but why would anyone take that opinon? A beautiful old aircraft that more than earned her keep in WW11, a flying memorial to all the brave bomber crews who never made it home

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread

I left at 12.30, went back to my car in the BLUE park and thought I'd be out inside of two minutes. But the traffic marshalls didn't have a clue what they were doing, and waved me, plus the two cars behind me along a long run of tarmac that went absolutely nowhere, so the three of us turned around, ...

Spitfire Corner

I was down in Cornwall last week and as I drove towards Spitfire Corner, there appeared to be what looked like a Canberra fuselage tucked away to the right of the Spitfire, between the house and the fence. Unfortunately as I was working I didn't have time to stop so can anyone shed any light on the ...

Yeovilton Sunday 17th March 2019

Hi all, a friend visited the FAA Museum on Sunday and noticed 3 x Merlins on the main pan, 2 x camo and 1 x grey, all mostly under wraps. He had no binoculars with him as he wasn't expecting to see anything on a Sunday. Can anyone offer any registrations please? MTIA

Re: Preserved Lynx

Hi MRTT

I took the DSEME tour about a year ago, and so checked the photos I took but none of the Lynxes were blue. I'm sure a few more have been roaded in these past few months so will ask a friend who works on the base.

Re: HMS Northumberland Merlin

Hi Paul

I found a shot of Northumberland with Merlin coded "372" and "B" sat on her stern, which I believe is ZH852, those markings/codes certainly tie in with her photos on ABPics.

Con numbers for Beechcraft T-6 Texan II

I wonder if anyone can help please? Asking for a friend who is compiling a list of the above aircraft and requires construction numbers for two batches. Between us we can find nothing on Planebase, nothing on Scramble ( although Scramble does list the registrations he needs c/n's for) and nothing on...

Two high level trails 30/10/18

Can anyone help please? Was walking in Devizes when at 3.15pm GMT I watched two high altitude trails heading east. They were someway to my northwest so would imagine they were over Chippenham or that general area. The rearmost trail was going a lot faster than the front one although there was little...

Re: Typhoon and F-35?? over Larkhill

Hi, I live in Devizes and noted Typhoon ZK353 beating it up here for at least the last hour. Can't help with the F35 I'm afraid although I do have razor012 tracking on ADS-B which is also in my local area

A couple of movements over Wiltshire 17/5/18

I wonder if anyone can help please? Was walking the dogs at 3pm today and saw ZM418 Atlas heading west towards Pewsey with another much smaller plane alongside it. Without glasses or bins I couldn't see what the other plane was. Then at approx 3.30pm two Apaches went across heading east to west, one...

Red tailed Merlin over Crewkerne 13/3/18

Hi all, I was parked in Crewkerne town centre at midday today when a Merlin went over the town at approx 1500ft heading south. It had a red tail, nothing showing on ADSB Exchange and PlanePlotter just showed it as "EH10" with no reg. Can anyone help with a registration please?

Re: Lyneham 1960s

Hello chaps Only just seen this thread, some great info for sure. For my sins I grew up in Calne and would often cycle out to the crash gate in New Zealand village. I distinctly remember that in the late 1960's, Iranian AF C-130s were regular visitors and although my logs from those days have long s...
