Re: RAF and the DDay celebrations

In my opinion, even if we didn't have the money/inclination to paint one or more aircraft in anniversary schemes, why not just have a formation of Hawks or Typhoons in a "75". Fairly easy to do,gives all the pilots etc some formation practice, and would have been a fitting tribute!

Re: Trump Visit

As Typeflyer says,Northolt is not closed to rotary traffic during runway rebuild and has the whole of the southern ramp currently available!.....Also possible that Farnborough could be used as base for the rotary element, although security there may not be up to the Americans desires!. With Trump not...

Strange looking "debris field",for a relatively small aircraft!.....glad crew seem to have gotten out relatively unscathed.

Re: Another MP idiot - Low Flying Complaints

Wonder if Ms Rees and Roberts would consider a "house swap" ??.....I live near the A40 at Northolt....constant noise 24/7 from lorries/cars/motorbikes etc...then there's the Central line operating all hours now and HS2 coming in the future......I'm sure,if they lived here, the peace and tranquility t...

Re: RAF 100 Flypast

27R it is....if you plot the Reds flight chart the co-ordinates given for Heathrow are around the threshold for that runway....Poyle and Windsor co-ordinates are in line with 27R as well

Re: RAF 100 Flypast

There is an e-mail circulating at LHR which basically says that ops there will be suspended for approx 10-15 mins whilst the larger participants and formations pass by!. Seems like they will head towards 27R from London and then route out west in a corridor between Heathrow and Northolt.....nor sure...

Re: Queens fly past

Outside London, the mounds beside the A40 at Northolt are a very popular viewpoint for the flypast as you can see right into Central London from there!. The formation normally picks up/follows the A40 west until they reach RAF Northolt, where they either turn for Brize or split into various sections f...

Re: Queens fly past

No doubt the usual mix of aircraft, but interestingly this year will probably see the last Tonkas taking part in the flypast, and possibly,(if allowed),maybe the first F-35??. "Tongue in cheek",now we have a yank embedded in the Royal Family, wouldn't it be nice to cement that union,by the inclusion of...

Re: runway closure

From memory, runway was due to closed between the end of April to October.....This has now been delayed to end of July, apparently to accommodate the upcoming visit of Trump to UK,although no one seems to know exactly what part of the country he will arrive at/go to!

Re: C-130H crash Savannah GA

Sad loss...R.I.P to all those onboard.....From the news report it seems like this aircraft was on maintenance for the previous few days and looking at the video it seems that they went assymetric resulting in the sudden corkscrew downwards!
