Re: COVID-19 UK

Unprecedented times requiring unprecedented decisions I guess, but I agree that people who’ve gone on holiday haven’t broken the law, but still doesn’t feel a very sensible thing to do right now however tempting it sounds. I think the 21st June ‘great unlock’ must be in serious doubt now, the numbe...

Re: COVID-19 UK

Funny was just looking into the data, case numbers being mostly driven by 10-25yr old, with a higher percentage women catching it. Deaths down Hospitalisation down According to the government the majority of those presenting to hospitals haven’t been vaccinated. I’ll be proven wrong but cases alone...

Re: COVID-19 UK

And the latest reports are that the vast majority of new cases are children, who (a) have not been vaccinated and (b) do not need hospitalisation.

Re: COVID-19 UK

Not the same scientists. Listen to the medics. People who are going into hospital are generally treated with some Oxygen and Simple drugs, then being discharged. The hospitalisation figures on the website are themselves a week old. The number of cases is not in itself relevant if the results of thos...

Re: COVID-19 UK

The stats are published daily just after 16.00 on the gov website. You can see the figures for each of 7-8 days to see the trends. As mentioned above, we are no longer in danger of swamping the NHS as numbers in hospital are low and those going in do not stay long. There are some scientists who are ...

Re: COVID-19 UK

Agreed, but pleasing that today they declared zero deaths in England, Wales and N Ireland. There was also a senior medic on the radio news pleased that the recent rise in infections does not feed through to increases in hospitalisations or deaths. Keep jabbing!

Re: COVID-19 UK

Numbers of new positive tests fell for the second day. Numbers of deaths in single figures. Those in hospital reportedly staying just for short periods for oxygen and drug treatments. Those in ventilators down. Hospital inpatients down. Number of vaccinations up. So what we need is not a lockdown, b...

Re: COVID-19 UK

Hopefully not. The important stats of hospitalisation and death are still low and declining. The pockets of new variant in areas where vaccine take up is low is their problem.

Re: COVID-19 UK

Hospital cases continue to fall 'There were 2,291 patients in hospital with coronavirus on 14 April 2021.' I received a txt today to say I could book my 2nd jab - and it is booked for tomorrow, Saturday morning. Very impressed as I am sure we all are with the UK vaccination process - long may it co...

Re: Enemies jam RAF planes GPS

With the current shooting themselves in the foot tendency by the EU, the final solution, and hopefully near term one, will be the implosion of the EU. Final solution? where have I heard that reference before.......... and given the collapse of UK trade and future collapse of industries sold false p...

Look at the hospitalisation figures. About 400 per day going in, and 800 per day leaving.

Re: COVID-19 UK

If you are travelling in a private vehicle, surely there is no greater risk being 50 miles from home than 5 miles, so I cannot see the validity in the stay local guidance (or is it law) who knows?

Re: COVID-19 UK

Whilst the number of new cases is disappointing, the hospitalisation and death figures are plummeting, and the whole rationale for lockdowns was to protect the NHS, NOT to stop people getting mild symptoms that don’t need treatment. Vaccines are clearly working, so lockdowns should soon be history. ...
