Re: Canon EOS 80D vs 7D Mark II

Hi all Last weekend I went to John Lewis in Bristol to pick up an 80D. There were none in stock so went for the 7D Mk II. Still in its box at present but can’t wait to use it. Still progressing through the manual lol Thanks for all the comments and advice. Can't recommend the 7d Mk II dummies guide...

Re: A10 65 Field access

Unfortunately it's getting to be all too common now, look at the carnage when the F22's were over. Not only is trespassing, blocking roads etc. an issue but the littering was shocking, the trouble is there's those of use who respect the rules & those that just need to post their photo's on Instagram...

Re: Machloop ban

Isn't the Ban on the loop every other LFA's gain though. Seen loads of pictures recently through the lakes etc. which were previously very few & far between. Maybe part of the 'Ban' is also partly to get rid of some of the multitudes of people who seem to be there daily not always respectful in wher...

Re: Refuelling the F-35 ,when on the QE ?

Having written and managed a good number of multi-£M contracts in my aviation career I'd sincerely hope that the MoD lhaven't locked themselves in as much as that and without any clauses that allow contract change based on real expereince and/or needs at that time. If they did then their procuremen...

Do the Red's Fly Fridays

Hi, Quick Q for the regulars - Do the Red's fly a full 3 sorties on a Friday or are they like the rest of the RAF & pack up for the weekend at Lunchtime ? Thinking of maybe popping down next Friday 15/2 depending on weather & potential for any activity. If I do visit where's the Go/No-Go areas, Obvi...

Re: Budget DSLR For Novice?

Repeating dollar99's advice best bet is to visit a retailer & have a play with what's available in the price range, what feels better in the hand, which menu logic do you prefer etc. Also don't discount 2nd hand from one of the reputable retailers such as London Camera Exchange, MPB, Milfsuds etc. o...

As many have said the specs are pretty much the same.

Best bet is to get into a shop & feel which is more comfortable for you.

Big thumbs up for the Lowepro range from me as well. Although my current Lowepro Bag is now so heavy when fully loaded I tend to decant into a smaller bag for all day trips. This is my small bag which may meet your needs https://www.amazon.co.uk/Case4Life-Range-Backpack-Cover-Nikon/dp/B00AB02WJ6/ref...

Re: UK Security around bases to be stepped up

the reporter tried to gain entry to the 77th Brigade's heavily guarded base, Denison Barracks, which is set in dense woodland near the village of Hermitage. Obviously never went there as part of their research either - live about 3 miles from the place! The only part they got right is 'near the vil...

Hi,

Can you possibly provide some details on where you took the pics ?
I'm fairly new to the area & have yet to find any decent resources on where to spot at Otterburn.

Thanks

Atlas' are fairly frequent visitors to the area, they do a lot of practice diversion work at Newcastle Airport. Frequently hearing the distinct growl of them recently.

Not sure on the lights front though.

Re: Spadeadam & Northumberland - how to find viewing points

Just an updated request if anybody can help

Now that I'm living in the NE I'd like to give Otterburn a visit, are there any spotters guides anywhere or info on places worth visiting that the locals can share ?

Thanks

Andy
