Re: Proposals for RAF Scampton
Hi all, My latest insider information on Scampton refugee accommodation is that :- The intension is after evaluation of existing on site barracks and the like. That pre-built living units will be put down on the old main runway as and when required to keep up with refugee arrivals. Whether these wil...

Some large engines running ?
I'll keep this short and sweet ! On Sunday 13th November I was with my family on Hatfield Moors which for those of you down south is very close to Doncaster Sheffield Civil Airport ! Well we all heard three runs of what sounded to me like the Vulcan ? It could have been a 747 cargo I suppose but the...

My Red Arrows Emergency Diversion Guesstimates !
These figures are my wrough estimates using an ordnance survey 1: 250 000 map book. They are meant as a rule of thumb guide only to make my point ! DIVERSION STATS Based on no fire cover at the practice site A aircraft has a problem but can maintain 200mph flight for an unknown period Emergency stra...

Re: Proposals for RAF Scampton
I took a nostalgic look at Scampton last week. The boarded up state of the old Officers Mess is enough to make passed WW2 serving air crew turn in their graves :'( Again I ask you and Lincoln Council? If Scampton is to become a new suburb of affordable housing and not four bedrooms executive homes ?...

Another day down the bi-pass 6/10/22
Thanks for the Swiss Team heads up lads, its what this forum is all about ! Went to Scampton first thing for a nostalgic look. The Bird scarer was out along with the taxiway sweeper. Red 4 was to practice later. Drove away to Wado with Dusty Springfield singing "i'm coming home again" such a sad lam...

Donna Nook site viewing information required
Been to Donna to see the seals but no idea where is the best viewing point. Is there anywhere you can park and view from your car. Could a local regular do an information page pledge. Please include toilet alternatives and best and nearest cafe and chip shop. Thanking you in anticipation.

Re: Scampton Long Range Radar
Thank's all, although it's news I never wanted to here :) What about the two Historical Flght Phantoms ? So do we know the MOD's plan for the future, or lack of, it at Glorious RAF Scampton ! It seems over the passed few years what with Covid, Ukranian, and now her Majesty's death ! There is no end ...

Scampton Long Range Radar
On passing Scampton twice so far for Cobra Warrior noticed the radar was parked. Brushed first sighting off as maintenance  Now it's still not revolving on my second pass I'm a lot concerned :O I cannot believe it makes sense to close Scampton due to as l've stated before the whole base is c...

Re: Oversea's SAR missions coming ?
Yes a Nymrod SAR aircraft was quietly dispatched to be in the right place should the Royal transport get into trouble. Thankfully it has as yet to be called on. This was also done in earlier years using Shackltons. The lucky crews went all around the world and were often treated to fabulous hospital...

Oversea's SAR missions coming ?
Due to the very sad death of the marvellous HRH Elizabeth the second. I fully expect that King Charles the third will sometime in the not so distant future undertake visits to his commonwealth nations. Therefore in line with past operations there will be a Pyhorsidon SAR aircraft dispatched to the R...

Re: Cobra Warrior Take Two 2022.
Got all the times and info ok thanks all. But ? Does anyone know who's attacking who. Who's on the goodies side and who gets to play the aggressors, considering 100 squadrons gone ? What about the contract for a firm of aggressors flying pocket rockets 'McDonald Douglass Skyhawks and old mig 29s and...

Another Day in Paradise !
Got to Scampton around 10:00 ish. The reds were out, only seven I think due to the naughty boy's "enough said". Viewing area closed again so joined a guy at the crash gate,"both parked off the road" as good spotters should ! He was on a morning pass and was hoping for a full practice display before ...

Re: Waddington Based
Hi all, Been to The Wave today 12/5/22 and I was very pleased to see one of the "air seekers" "hate the name" doing rolla's, at least five. I was so excited I forgot to count them or take the serial number. However it had been given an all round coating of what I call "duck egg grey" which is a much...

Listening to bbc5 live news about Boris Johnsons visit to Ukraine to personally meet with their inspiring president ! Re: Ben Nevis SAR missions.
Good stuff by the court for the Gateshead school surely did not do a correct risk assessment, as all schools are aware that they must do for every outside school activity. No mention of where the £30,000 went ? It should go directly to the mountain rescue funds and any other agencies that were invol...
