Re: Old Sarum Airfield

I don't know if this comes under the heading of commercial flying, but there was a lot parachute jumping and schooling carried out from Old Sarum.

Re: Prince Andrew Interview?

Just wondering if there is anything else going on in royal circles. The last time Andrew was hung out to dry was about him and Fergie, to take the press off the track of Charles and Diana problems. I'm not saying the spotlight shouldn't be on Prince Andrew at the moment but being a cynical OAP I now...

There are questions being asked about who is behind Greta Thunberg and who is it with a big wallet that is funding her travelling around the world.

True Lies

I watched the film True Lies on Film4 yesterday evening. I'd never watched it before, but what a great sequence involving two US Marine Harriers. Made the whole film worth watching.

Which side of the airfield were these taken from? The times I've taken pictures has been from Pyle Lane, were these shots taken there or from the other side.

Bournemouth Airshow

Has anybody got any idea of the flying programme for either Friday or Sunday please. To be quite honest there is some much on that weekend, I'm torn on what to attend and trying to find information to help me make my mind up.

Re: Blue skies?

I found if I lighten the background and then add to saturation levels a bit, it tends to add a slight blue tinge to the picture. My editing suite allows me to isolate the background so I can just work on the background on it's own. Vice versa by isolating the background I can then invert the picture...

Re: Brands hatch GT3s and GT4s

Really nice set with a nice bit of panning in the last three, and also on the others you haven't used to fast a shutter speed and frozen the wheels. Once again nice set of shots, it looks as though you had a good day and thank you for sharing.

Old Sarum

No longer a military airfield but with a proud history going back to the 1st World War, it looks if Old Sarum airfield is about to close in the non-distance future. https://www.spirefm.co.uk/news/local-news/2922794/old-sarum-airfield-to-close/?fbclid=IwAR2259cFFSHmFV-lrpwr_TdMmNglOrkIaEIRvhqfnmNBQ2r...

Wide Load 30/7/2019

Don't know if this is the right place to post this, or even if it is something that should be posted. On a local news site they are warning of a wide load tomorrow the 30th on the A37 & A303. It states the wide load is leaving Lysander Road yeovil heading out on the A37 then onto the A303 towards Wi...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread

With the reference to food prices, there is always a price guide to food prices in the souvenir programme. So you do get some idea of the charges and slightly in defence of the traders I don't know what RIAT charge for trade pitches, but it certainly will not be cheap and then the traders have staff...

Re: RIAT 2019 Awards

How are the awards scored, if the participants are flying two or three days over the weekend are scores given for all performances and then perhaps an average score is worked out or is just for one particular performance?

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread

I started going to RIAT when it was still at Greenham and I went to the firsts ones to be held at Fairford, I can't remember how many. Then I dropped out for quite a few years and returned again in 2014 and haven't missed one since. This year I attended on the Sunday and although a good day with som...
