Re: RNAS Yeovilton - 15th August

Which side of the airfield were these taken from? The times I've taken pictures has been from Pyle Lane, were these shots taken there or from the other side.

Bournemouth Airshow

Has anybody got any idea of the flying programme for either Friday or Sunday please. To be quite honest there is some much on that weekend, I'm torn on what to attend and trying to find information to help me make my mind up.

Re: Blue skies?

I found if I lighten the background and then add to saturation levels a bit, it tends to add a slight blue tinge to the picture. My editing suite allows me to isolate the background so I can just work on the background on it's own. Vice versa by isolating the background I can then invert the picture...

Re: Brands hatch GT3s and GT4s

Really nice set with a nice bit of panning in the last three, and also on the others you haven't used to fast a shutter speed and frozen the wheels. Once again nice set of shots, it looks as though you had a good day and thank you for sharing.

Old Sarum

No longer a military airfield but with a proud history going back to the 1st World War, it looks if Old Sarum airfield is about to close in the non-distance future. https://www.spirefm.co.uk/news/local-news/2922794/old-sarum-airfield-to-close/?fbclid=IwAR2259cFFSHmFV-lrpwr_TdMmNglOrkIaEIRvhqfnmNBQ2r...

Wide Load 30/7/2019

Don't know if this is the right place to post this, or even if it is something that should be posted. On a local news site they are warning of a wide load tomorrow the 30th on the A37 & A303. It states the wide load is leaving Lysander Road yeovil heading out on the A37 then onto the A303 towards Wi...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread

With the reference to food prices, there is always a price guide to food prices in the souvenir programme. So you do get some idea of the charges and slightly in defence of the traders I don't know what RIAT charge for trade pitches, but it certainly will not be cheap and then the traders have staff...

Re: RIAT 2019 Awards

How are the awards scored, if the participants are flying two or three days over the weekend are scores given for all performances and then perhaps an average score is worked out or is just for one particular performance?

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread

I started going to RIAT when it was still at Greenham and I went to the firsts ones to be held at Fairford, I can't remember how many. Then I dropped out for quite a few years and returned again in 2014 and haven't missed one since. This year I attended on the Sunday and although a good day with som...

Thank you for all your replies, the one thing I can't understand is although the Falcons couldn't fly at Yeovilton they were pretty sure they would be displaying at RIAT this coming weekend.

Insurance

Can anybody explain to me what insurance is necessary for display teams to be able to fly at airshows the Royal Jordanian Falcons did not fly at Yeovilton yesterday and were only on static diplay. When questioning one of the team members, he said they couldn't fly because they did not have adequate ...

Re: Unacceptable comments at Yeovilton

I have never had problems at Yeovilton my wife suffers with MS and is either in a wheelchair or on a mobility scooter and I am her able bodied carer. We arrived at about 8.45 and were ushered into the disabled queue no problem. I must admit I do get some odd looks at times as once we are in the disa...

Please The Phantom don't lump as you call them lefties all in together. I would class myself as a person on the left side of politics but I don't go around protesting about everything and I regularly attend air shows and other military events. I don't really see this as a forum for political views o...

BBC weather for Cirencester light rain 19th & 20th, dry with sunny intervals 21st. Perhaps buying a Sunday ticket may have been right after all. What ever the weather and what ever is flying it will be a good day and I'm looking forward to it. Yeovilton this weekend to wet the appetite than "Gloriou...

Does this mean that the displays for Sunday we have kept on being promised with aren't going to happen now and they have plug the hole with some pretty non-descript displays instead.

Totally agree with you TomTwin I was just pointed out that the people that moan about the wing walkers could just admire the planes instead. Looking at this year's programme I think it's the most varied display for quite a while.

Re: What aircraft would you like to see at RIAT 2019

Eagle Driver refers to dross, not everybody that goes is a die in the wood grey jet anorak and we do like to see a variation in the displays. Plus the fact the Boeing Stearman biplanes have a long military history being used as a basic trainer and even if they have got very flexible acrobats attache...
