Re: Biggin Hill 1979

Hi Paul, Doodlebug bringing up the rear, again. I have enjoyed seeing all your Biggin posts and don't know how I missed them. Those F 1s do it for me, especially with their canopies up. But a nice weather beaten Noratlas has to come a close second. Lovely memories thanks. :) R...

Some lovely memories while looking at those. :thumb:
To think that I was watching that B2 display 14 years ago. :Wow:

Kind regards.

It's long been on my "to do" list, but it looks like I will have to settle for Arthur's crate of Chablis. :)

Thanks for sharing them with us.

Re: B52 question

Post by tm74sqn » Tue Jun 17, 2014 10:42 pm I can remember in the early 1960s when SAC B-47s were based at Brize Norton you could (fairly) often see one on approach to runway 26 with its parachute already streamed as it flew over the road - in fact, I've got a b&w photo of one doing exactly that. hi Mattyjc,

Irc, it is pretty much as you say, to reduce the rate of wear on the tyres and brakes. Rather an impressive sight. :)

Hi Paddyboy, It's all right for you! I'm so old I have forgotten much about the Mildenhall shows - that is until you post a programme. :Wow: They really were great shows and, I would argue, much more memorable than IAT. Who can forget the atmosphere engendered by our American friends with t...

Re: Duxford June Bimbles ~ *UPDATE 8~17Jun14*

Hi Brian, That is a lovely shot emphasising the twin fins of the He 162. :thumb: Clearly I am not up to speed because I thought the CASA 2.111 had left Duxford. I am glad that it is still there. It seems that I am getting in a muddle over the Goodwood Spitfires, I thought the one seen today was the ...

There was indeed a Spitfire two seater(TR 9?) at Goodwood today,Tuesday, but with serial SM 250.
Also seen was a nice silver two seat Hunter, which I was told does not have an engine.

Re: F-35 coming to RIAT / Farnborough

Are they likely to be carrying out visits to any other bases or airfields when they are here for P.D.s/ missed approaches etc? I think only time will tell. Given that this aircraft is not fully operational, there have been reporst of a recent engine problem, I doubt that they will be very active wh...

I will keep an eye open for the T 9 at Goodwood tomorrow. :)
It's good to see that you also caught the Sabre before she leaves these shores.

Lovely posts Brian.
