Crew Names on Typhoons

I noticed the last week two Typhoons 'ZK362 WO R Lloyd' and and ZK? 'FS R Lloyd' names under the cockpit, I'm assuming that there are no NCO pilots now so does anyone know if they are memorial names?

Re: From a distance.....

P-8s sound different, I don't know why but maybe it's something to do with being at higher power settings at lower altitude rather than low 737s which are at using lower power on approach.

Re: Top five aircraft moments

Over many years but in order of significance to me 1. Taking control of a Hughes 500D for an hour when the pilot fell asleep over the Yukon in 1980. 1a. Subsequent near crash on take off in an overloaded Cessna 206 (I had 36 rounds of .303 in my pockets at the time). Both of these were during the sa...

I've never seen a F-104 with a flight refuelling probe before, interesting set.

If they wanted a really effective camouflage then Ryanair colours would be best, hiding in plain sight :halo:

I was there in 2015 and it seemed much more cluttered then, good to see the layout improved. Great photo's.

Re: India v Pakistan

Between the procurement process in the Indian MOD and the IAF safety record I'm surprised that the PAF don't just sit back and wait 'till the Indians run out of airframes.

Re: RAF/RN aircraft not receiving UK designations.

From your examples it looks like it may have something to do with how the aircraft was ordered. Those ordered from an MoD spec e.g. Typhoon get F Mk* but those ordered off an existing production line seem to keep the manufacturers designation e.g. A400M. Of course there are bound to be examples wher...

Re: Holiday Idea's . . . . .

On a more serious note from my last post, if your budget will stretch to it, Las Vegas has McCarron airport near the city centre and Nellis a few miles out of town. I'm sure the other half could be persuaded that the MGM Grand pool complex is as good as a beach - and you might even win the cost of t...
