Re: Raptors at the ‘Heath - 10th July 2025

They are gorgeous photos

I was there that morning at Lakenheath but not had a chance to do anything with my shots but I doubt they will look as crisp as yours .

Re: Anatolian Eagle - Spotters Day Morning launch and brief report. report.

The Turkish and let's be fair, the Greeks are brilliant at putting on spotters days. They really appreciate flying and are rightly proud of their airforces and want to put on a show. Brilliant.

So you don’t think marham would get like too busy to get parked if I didn’t get there early?
Just do it old school, turn up around station opening time and see what happens, you should get some local flying assuming you still need to see or image RAF F-35B

Re: F1 2025

I think a lot of F1 fans lost respect for Horner when Lewis was robbed of his 8th championship, Long memories folk have. Lewis should really 'only ' be on 6 titles as Massa should have won the 2008 title, he was very unlucky but that is sport and F1 in particular; there are lots of unlucky sportsma...

Re: Anatolian Eagle - Spotters Day Morning launch and brief report. report.

Really nice set of pictures

Been to a couple of AE - last time during the lull a Turkish F-16 pilot gave a super display culminating in a very very low pass over the crowd line - awesome

Did they bus you to the otherside after lunch?

I tend to shoot Aperture priority , wider Aperture in lower light to keep the shutter speed up etc

ISO 320 usually or 160 in good light like today

Re: d500 tips

I also have the nikon 200-500mm lens - i like the Reach it gives me, rather like a digital telescope . However I didn't buy it second hand expecting super sharp photos; I think they are perfectly acceptable but the lens can't match a fast high quality 70-200 in my opinion? Its a big heavy lens and n...

A job in F1 , Eight world drivers titles as part of the team , a Wife who was a Spice girl - where did it all go wrong :)

Of course its a results business and being in charge of a team used to winning but has been on a two year decline isn't good enough so it seems so he has to go - tough at the top

Brize closure

Sorry if already mentioned - i have had a quick look

I heard today at the Marham fence the rather surprising news that Brize is closing next year for three years and provision has already been made to base the Voyagers at Prestwick

Is this true ?

Nice shots as usual

I couldn't go this time - were there any Egyptian vipers present?

Looks like each year that passes it has more of an airshow feeling?

Re: Bastille Day Flyover

Booked!

I am going to Les Invalides - bit into the sun but you can usually identify everything although my go to lens for this sort of thing is broken again and being fixed again by nikon - not worried as generally there are quite a few spotters in that location to crib off :)

Re: F1 2025

Just finished watching the coverage on record without knowing the result - i wanted Oscar to win so second isn't a terrible result but I was very disappointed with Piastri's unsportsmanlike reaction to his ten second penalty - i thought he was going to cry! Was it erratic driving behind the safety c...
