Re: Special Tail

Apparently this aircraft spent quite some time doing circuits over wisbech with the undercarriage only part deployed, one side fully lowered, one side semi retracted and nosewheel fully retracted. Looks like crew would have had to wind the wheels down.

Re: Duxford Friday 27th May

An enjoyable couple of hours but the drive home to Selby was awful. 5 hrs for what is usually a 2hr 15min run.
I wont be doing that again on the Friday of a bank holiday weekend!

C130 lands at disused RAF Burn airfield.

Last four engine jobbie to operate into or out of here was a Halifax in 1945... residents may be reporting a ghost bomber! Also flew in at 21,00 in total darkness but unfortunately thats not good for cameras...... https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5710/21436462372_2dd26566ca_b.jpg DSC_3577 by Graham Br...

Re: Hawk Attack

Team of forward controllers were based at Burn all day. Had a Typhoon doing ground attack during the morning, Hawk this afternoon and a C130 has been landing, turning around and taking off this evening. It is about to land as I type, doing landings in total darkness. Apparently it will be visiting s...

Re: DTV Airshow cancelled due to Shoreham accident

I believe the only classic jets flying at DTV were going to be the gnats, Vulcan and Swedish Histoic Flight. I think the Gnats were canelled due their earlier accident. The Vulcan is not affected by the new CAA regs as its display is non aerobatic. It already flies on a Permit to Fly which expressly...

Re: Hawker Hunter crashed at Shoreham

Listen to some of you nit picking the details of the reporting, the truth is a tragedy occured and one that the majority of the UK public will see easily avoided by banning future airshows. Its impossible to argue against such opinion given the tradgies this year involving ex military jets. Like it...

Re: Church Fenton Air Display?

I wish them luck. I would love to see this as an annual event as Im only eight miles away. I think the access roads will be an absolute nightmare though. Having said that, there is a railway station at Church Fenton So there is scope at future events for train/shuttle facilities.
