Alcedo Atthis (kingfisher)

Spent sunday afternoon/late evening photographing kingfishers along with most of today Tuesday. The sun never reaches the spot where she likes to perch but that's life. More than happy with the results. 1. https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3888/15168596826_b502cc8940_o.jpg IMG_0072 copy by adamc8rd@pic...

Leuchars 08/04/14 QRA recoveries included.

Spent over 12 hours at Leuchars yesterday in the company of Mark and Freddie for a while also. The day was rather quiet in places with no hawk movements until mid afternoon. There was one solitary 6 Sqd jet out in the morning along with 2 from 11Sqd and 3 from 1Sqd. The afternoon waves comprised of ...

Re: Leuchars night flying 03-03-14

Excellent work in tricky conditions - shot 6 gets my vote. I really like shots taken in the narrow window of time as darkness falls but not when its so dark that all you see are lights. The green glowing formation bars look terrific. Was the aircraft stationary or moving when you took shot 6? Super...

Not as sharp as I would have liked but it did have fun taking them. Something different from the normal I think but it gets to a point where you really do just have to stop as you will see from the last photo which is shot at 10000 ISO with the others being shot at 2000-5000 ISO. 1. https://v4s2.yim...
