Re: Blue skies?

One thing to bear in mind is that if you transpose aircraft taken against grey skies onto a blue sky background, the lighting on the aircraft (presumably no sun) will not match the 'blue skies' where you would expect sun. Having tried to cobble together cricket squad photos taken on 2 different nig...

That F-15C was returning from Baltic Air Policing in Lithuania, was one that went tech and didn't return with the others. That also explains the Lithuanian C-27 bringing back equipment for the 493rd.

Wow, nice catch. Google suggests a LIDAR system in the canoe fairing. Another weird Global Express. Yep its a LIDAR system that is being worked on by Scitor Corporation. Taken from http://lignesdedefense.blogs.ouest-france.fr and Translated from French Scitor Corporation, a very discreet US company...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2015

I'm also not sure where all this VX-51 stuff is coming from. I've seen it mentioned elsewhere and as far as I know the Japanese do not use such terminology. I stand to be corrected if that is the case, but technically it is from 51 Kokutai, which is part of 31 Kokugun. Until reports relating to the...

Re: Indian airforce at Coningsby.

Why are the afterburners blue on the SU30s? Is fuel injected into the jetpipe differently or are the SU30s engines that inefficient that there is enough excess air in the exhaust gases to burn the fuel that is injected!! Couple theories: 1. The 'normal' engine stages consume less oxygen than Wester...

These are just as good as the last time I saw them Chris. Tooled up Flankers and Fencers are that extra bit special in this set. How often do you get to see a Fencer topside, never mind a sweptback one!
