Last weekend was the airshow at the end of the bi-annual FIDAE show at Santiago in Chile.
I combined this with a family holiday, and unlike 2016 the weather was decent. As I think I wrote last time, it's a bit like having Farnborough at a less busy version of Heathrow, where they use one of the parallel runways mostly for the show. The static area was very busy and the light is tricky - particularly in the morning.
This year's version saw some of the trade show visitors depart early again, but good support from the USAF (C17, KC135, B52, C130, 2 Luke F35s and 2 Langley F22s - one of the Raptors did two displays on the Saturday). Other overseas participants included the Brazilian Tucano display team, Spanish A400, two Peruvian C27s and a Mexican C295.
Highlight for me was the F5 display - with another one on static, although I did note that these were the same two that were there in 2016, which makes me wonder how many of these are still flying!
Here's a selection, mostly of the flying display - the static contained a good mix of Chilean military.

FIDAE - Santiago
Re: FIDAE - Santiago
Great post. Nice to see some different aircraft and operators that we don't get to see in the UK.

Very interesting post
I love the idea of a show at an active civil field - something for everyone.
