According to 'Gary', there are 28 GR4s and 3 GR4(T)s, giving a total of 31 currently airworthy :thumb:

Assuming Garys' Tagline is consistently updated, it's as PB stated.
See lowest part of any 'Gary' post....RAF Tornados left in service = 31 :( 407 ish days left in service GR4 =28, GR4(T) =3

Steven is keeping a log, although there is a few more on his list. He hasn't updated it just yet. Think he has 35 still listed viewtopic.php?f=51&t=157422

The 31 i have quoted doesnt include 133 which is now training airframe. Also 3 more that have been withdrawn or reported to be withdrawn since his last update to the list

More than I thought, I take it they are all at Marham.

Yes they are, apart from the 8 in Cyprus. There will be at least another 11 withdrawn before the mighty Tornado retire

Although they are still deployed overseas on a regular basis under Operation Shader.

To save a separate post, I wonder if any more knowledgeable minds would be able to answer a couple of questions which I was discussing at the weekend:

Will the remaining GR Mk.4T airframes remain operational until the type's out-of-service date for continuation training?

Subject to operational security, until Project Centurion is delivered is Tornado still operational with Storm Shadow?

Again subject to Op Sec, has the RAPTOR Pod been withdrawn from use or is it still operational?

Yes, one T should be in the final active Tornados, pilot checks and Photoship I'm guessing. Or that was the plan last year

Yes, Storm Shadow should still operational on Tornado, although not sure if it's been used since Ellamy? Not seen any info or posts about Tornados going North to fire the end of life ones into the Atlantic for a while. Might be saving them for Typhoon?

Yes RAPTOR is still used and still regularly used on Shader duties.

I did hear today that a Tornado will be going to RAF Honington. Not sure as a gate guard or a trading aid

As anyone else heard about it

A few Storm Shadows were fired off in Syria either last year or the year before, but that's all that I'm aware of.
