Very pleased with my Scampton Airshow experience on Sunday despite the cold wind which deprived us of the BBMF and the overcast conditions but at least there was v. little rain (only a brief shower). Almost certainly the best organised airshow I've known, superb traffic management, great facilities (ATM and more than enough loos) and friendly volunteers who were great with the kids, satisfactory flying programme (for the price) and varied/interesting static (thanks largely to Saab Silver Wings & HHA). Altho' conditions for photography were not ideal I'm satisfied with the results and the unexpected addition of the KC135 to the flying programme and as my 5 year old grandson and his mum were also happy with their day out we'll be back next year!

Re: Scampton Airshow Sun. 10/09
Great shots, Micheal. What happened to the BBMF. Saturday was a good day again overcast with showers, some heavy at times. Agree with you a great show and yes will be back next year.

Thanks Chris. Understand the wind was too strong for their strict operating limits. As would have been a crosswind @ Coningsby too they would not even have been cleared for take - off. Both days had their problems with the weather but on balance I would have taken the wind over Saturday's rain as it can be miserable in the wet, esp when you've a 5 yr old in tow. From last night's TV news I gather the organisers regard the show as an 'overwhelming success' so lets hope they can build on it next year and attract more military a/c.

Re: Scampton Airshow Sun. 10/09
Thanks Paddy. They, and the interesting resident HHA types, gave the static some credibility.
