If BUFF 2 is on 6402 then he is in the Aberystwith area.
Rather hoped he would route IoM WAL SHAW , but he went straight down the Irish sea.

Did anyone manage to get a shot with the B52 and Sally B together?

Italian Tonka stole the show, immense display!
Re: RAF Cosford Airshow- Sunday 11th June 2017
Thought it was a bit strange that Sally had not cleared before B52 did fly pass .I had scanner on tower and last contact between tower and B52 was cleared for two passes not cleared to pass . I may of miss heard but it was a bit was a bit close ...Don't think the B52 was stopping for anything Sally just got out of the way .

Really enjoyable day- Italian Tonka was fantastic (tho not sure why it was ok to use the normal display axis tho); Reds against the moody sky was great for photos; the Bone pass was unlucky with the weather, but a flat out B-1 is a flat out B-1!; and really enjoyed the muscle biplane- anyone that thinks it's a toilet break act is a fool!!

B52 advised to turn left to avoid conflict by Approach.kevkian wrote:Thought it was a bit strange that Sally had not cleared before B52 did fly pass .I had scanner on tower and last contact between tower and B52 was cleared for two passes not cleared to pass . I was surprised it 'came in' when it did.
Ditto before second pass.

Swiss Air Force PC-7 Team have been awarded with the 'Bill Hartree Memorial Award', well deserved in my opinion!

Not a bad way to spend a Sunday!......Tonka was awesome, but as said already, not a lot of competition. B1 pass is always great with re-heat against a grey sky, in the rain. Two passes from the Buff was a nice surprise as well. Had the scanner on and can't say why the Tiffie went tech but I'm sure we will find out soon enough. Sally B was as gracefull as ever and looked great. Quite a lot of other types throughout the day that were all worth watching...especially the airfield support mock battle at the end (aka Yeovilton style, but not as big!), with the An2 flying into a strong wind at a breath taking 19mph...how the hell does it stay up??
We avoided the ques by having a quick...too quick....walk around the museum afterwards and really need to visit for the day.

Doe's anyone know why the BBMF were using the call sing "Thompson" ...not sure about the spelling, but heard them on my scanner several times. I have never heard that one before and wondered if there was any historical meaning to it?
Found it now thanks...

Re: RAF Cosford Airshow- Sunday 11th June 2017
Reds display was ruined by the requirement to alter the display axis.
Re: RAF Cosford Airshow- Sunday 11th June 2017
"Ruined" is a bit of an overstatement I feel (you're not by any means the only one to say that mind), maybe less impactful than when in closer, but the change in display line isn't something anyone can help. (Interesting that the Tonka was ok to use the main axis tho)1979bree wrote:Reds display was ruined by the requirement to alter the display axis.
