At around that time (certainly 1992)
Sea Harrier FRS1 - XZ493/714
Sea Harrier FRS1 - ZA175/717

Re the Tornado F3's, they would have been 29 Sqn (B codes) not 23 Sqn (E codes).
Tornado F3 - ZE338/BB (May 1990)
Tornado F3 - ZE342/BK (June 1990)

As far as the F-16s are concerned,I wasnt into taking serials and notes back then, but have got photos of 2 by the hangars and 2 departing.Could be the same ones or be 2 pairs.

Has to be 27th August 1991 as the 2 F-16 and the 3 Tornados were reported there on that day according to BAR .

Belgian AF F-16A FA-20
Belgian AF F-16A FA-21
RAF Tornado F.3 ZE965 BZ 23 Sqn
RAF Tornado F.3 ZE838 BB 23 Sqn
RAF Tornado F.3 ZG733 BK 23 Sqn
Sea Harrier FRS.1 ????? 714 899 Sqn possibly ZD580 which was coded 714 with AMG Yeovilton according to BAR Sea Harrier update 2/1992 but according to same update XZ493 was also coded 714
Sea Harrier FRS.1 ????? 006 801 Sqn By 29/8/1991 801 Sqdn FRS.1 XZ498 (ex 'R/006') was recoded 'R/002' , XZ499 was coded 006 in the BAR review of Sea Harriers in Feb 1992 issue of BAR
Sea Harrier FRS.1 ????? 000 801 Sqn ZD608 was noted as 000 when it embarked on HMS Ark Royal on 19/9/1991
Sea Harrier FRS.1 ????? 717 899 Sqn ZE696 was noted as 717 when it embarked on HMS Ark Royal on 19/9/1991 on loan from 899 Sqd
Harrier T.4 ????? 899 Sqn This is a bit problematic as there were a few around at that time .

Any help with serials greatly appreciated

That is very useful. A few gaps now filled. Many thanks.

The a/c coded '714' with 899 Sq on 27/8/91 was XZ493. Regarding code '006' I have no record of another a/c with that code at that time though it's just possible that the recoding of XZ498 from '006' to '002' (see above) took place between 27th and 29th August. XZ499 was not noted as 'R/006' until 4.11.91 and in any case was still 'R/001' on 30/8/91.

I guess there's no chance of getting a serial off that - what a pity, would certainly add to the a/c histories.

Cheers, ZF
