Boscombe Down 19 April.
Boscombe Down 19 April.
Rare visitor. RC-135 Air Seeker ZZ664. Stayed overnight and left in morning if 20th
Re: Boscombe Down 19 April.
Boscombe has the longest Military (sortof) runway in the UK at 10528 ft. Ideal for P8's and RC135's once Mildenhall closes.
Re: Boscombe Down 19 April.
I know but that was not the reason of the visit as I know why it was there. RC-135s will operate from their present base at Waddington.

Why was it there then? Boscombe Down can't be the only place with a Compass-swing remaining Shirley?
Re: Boscombe Down 19 April.
It was there for the compass swing and I should imagine both aircraft types mentioned will be seen at Boscombe in the coming years.
May the skies be clear and blue and the wind fair with a guiding star to steer by.
