According to Airshowinfo it was confirmed a few day's ago, two CF-188s will attend the Lens airshow in September to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Vimy Ridge and the Battle for Hill 70. Would be great if the same happened at RIAT. More chance next year when the RAF celebrate their 100th I would guess

Just received via email...

As an Easter weekend bonus we can confirm that the Swedish Air Force will attend the 2017 Air Tattoo!

Returning to display at the show this July will be a solo Saab JAS 39C Gripen, the primary fighter flown by the Swedish Air Force, plus a 'D' variant which will be available for a closer inspection in the static park.

Brilliant Easter surprise!

Always look forward to any Gripen display but last years display by the Swedes should of grabbed an award. Up there in my top 3 for 2016 with Soloturk and Rafale displays.

If Hungarians get confirmed it'll make a great trio this year!

Sorry I'm bad, the Gripen won the Sir Douglas Bader Trophy last year! Was thinking of Soloturk that should of took something home!
If it displays like last year they may as well keep hold of it!

A fine routine, it seemed to be very under rated for such a long time but has got some well earned plaudits the last 3 years, happy its returning.

As well as the Swedish Gripen, it seems the Swedish Air Force Historic Flight is in negotiations with RIAT. Participation could include any or all of Draken, Viggen, Tunnan, Hunter and Vampire. How to persuade the RIAT organisers to sign them up at all costs?

Chances of that happening are slim, I'm afraid.

Already been ruled out by RIAT Ops on UKAR a while ago. They had no idea about the listing and had 0 discussions with them.

Today's update 20/04/2017
The Austrian Air Force has confirmed it will be sending two Saab 105Ö jet trainers to the Air Tattoo in July. One will take part in the flying display whilst the other will be available for closer inspection in the static park.

I can't help but feel we need more USAF aircraft, surely there will be something else in the pipeline?

Nice update! Great to see the little Saab back at RIAT. Hopefully it's still got last years paint scheme.

Wouldn't worry too much about static, still early doors and you never fully know until the show.

This year has the makings of a vintage year and I think DBH have got a few BIG surprises to announce.
I'm sure I read somewhere that the RAF have been working closely with Pakistan recently and the PAF have been amber for quite some time on RIAT lists (as I've previously mentioned) so wouldn't be surprised if we saw an F-16 or JF-17 from them this year!
I could be looking too much into it but I do believe we could get something special from Asia/Asia Pacific region.

I'd like to see an Indian Jaguar (if they still have them) as I've never seen one fly.
