Post by Gary » Sun Aug 14, 2016 8:55 am

Just a reminder, for anyone think about doing FRIAT or renewing for next year. You have until Friday 19th August to get your completed form back to DBH if you want to pay in installments

I have received the e ticket via email. This is apparently just to get into the actual airfield
The usual FRIAT pass & pack will be sent out as normal nearer the event time

I have been told the idea behind the e ticket is to solve the problem of overseas visitors not receiving their entry tickets in time
due to overseas postal/courier problems

Only 10 months to go guys :D

Odd question time, how much are people paying standing charge for FRIAT Mach 3 a month? People seem to be paying different amounts, guess this down to the loyalty scheme?

Ignore that, I've done it as a stand alone.

When I looked into it I was under the impression, as it's a standing order and not direct debit, you set how much and how many payments-wise. I could be wrong though, it was a while ago!
Cheers

This is my 1st time as a FRIAT member, is there a separate entrance for FRIAT ticket holders. Last year and years before, the stewards were calling out for FRIAT members to see them???

Any other bits of useful info would be greatly appreciated. The plan being, Friday do the statics and Saturday and Sunday relax and sit in the luxurious  grandstand and enjoy the flying, whilst drinking the day away!!!

Yes, Gate J (to the right of Blue) is the dedicated FRIAT entrance, you'll find the queue behind the bushes! Sounds like a plan, be aware that there may be a few Friday exclusive displays (USMC F-35B & KC-130J, Strikemaster last year)

Other than that, nothing else you should be aware of, that immediately jump to mind.

Hope you enjoy FRIAT! :)

The FRIAT gate is only open for an hour or so. Once the queues dies down it's a little pointless

Wendy and the FRIAT staff a have said we will be in a better grandstand than last year, last year wasn't luxurious it was like playing sardines. You might want to bring drink with you too. The bar was very limited last year

One of the best things about FRIAT used to be when they called out over the tannoy "The showground is now open" on Friday's. I would be out of the enclosure within seconds  doing a big chunk of the static with only few people about. Would be nice if they could the same on Thursday, but they are still moving jets about so unlikely

Thought I'd missed a few things, cheers Gary.

Glad to hear they've rectified the grandstand issue for this year, last year wasn't exactly comfortable, that's for sure.

For the dedicated FRIAT gate you need to park in the blue car park. I tend to get into the car park by about 5.45 -6 which means you are in the first few rows of cars, then go back to sleep for a couple of hours. Don't join the main queue which snakes back and forward but go to the field gate by the loos and burger vans - FRIAT gate is a little to the right of that one.

PS - drink the day away and you'll get wobbly pictures! :P
