Top of my RIAT wish list would be the Collings Foundation's F4-D Phantom 65-0749 :thumb:. Highly unlikely I know, but I'd love to see that!

It would be a welcome return to the UK, because that very jet was based in the UK during the 1970's with the 81st TFW at Bentwaters.

And there's plenty more where that came from!

Appears the BBMF are planning something to celebrate their 60th anniversary at Cosford, Fairford & Scampton.

Could be interesting! :thumb:

Don't believe they did, certainly don't remember their Do-228.

Agreed, i think the appearance of that one aircraft could sell RIAT out very quickly

Latest email from DBH

According to the latest email for DBH, Mach 3 has nearly sold out? Best be quick if anyone is still contemplating

We've listened to you - 2017 Showground Changes

Once again, we have listened to your feedback following the 2016 Air Tattoo and have taken steps to improve the event, the showground and complete visitor experience.

We have reviewed the location of the Green Service Station as many of you said that it was not visible from the taxiway. In 2017 this will move to a more prominent position on the grass right next to the taxiway and closer to the Green Entry Point. To see the location you can view the showground maps for 2017 HERE.

Also in the Green Zone, the Adrenalin Zone was lacking somewhat in adrenalin! It has now been renamed the Activity Zone and will include more free and paid for fun activities suitable for children and adults alike. Please be assured, these activities won't detract from the flying display or static aircraft!

New for 2017 will be the 'Wall of Death', a vertical cylinder within which stunt riders will harness the power of 'G' force to ride around the inside walls. You may have seen Channel 4 when Guy Martin attempted to break the World Record for the fastest Wall of Death, hitting nearly 80mph. This will be part of the Autodrome, which you said could be improved, so we have also stepped up our efforts to get a wider variety of cars and military vehicles on display. If you are part of a car club and want more information, please EMAIL.

All of this doesn't mean we haven't been concentrating on getting aircraft to the show. As every year, we will announce aircraft once we have the written confirmation - so watch this space! But don't forget, we have made a great start with the USAF Thunderbirds Demonstration Team already confirmed!

Remember, you have until midnight on 31 January to book your Super Earlybird tickets! FRIAT MACH 1 has already sold out and FRIAT MACH3 has nearly sold out! Saturday enclosures are also selling fast so BOOK NOW.

Is it me or does the map this year look like it's been on a diet?
Pretty sure it had more on offer previously...Unless we're expecting a glut of static to fill it up? Just an observation I'd hasten to add.

Those that also belong to MSF will be aware of the views being voiced over the Inclusion of a Circus at this years RIAT, that and the big increase in size of the auto village , probably explains the reduced area allocated to aircraft .

Personally I find it frightening just how far the organisers are prepared to push the public into paying for something that they would much rather see elsewhere probably for free and at there own leisure nearer home .

Leave the circus,s for your local town green, and the car shows to the garages RIAT this is becoming a Joke.

Have to agree, I know we'll never return to the 80s & 90s but please, can we turn our attention fully back to aircraft?

Just the fact the A-10 is making the rounds as part of the Heritage Flight again is wonderful news for me. Hopefully the demonstration team return too.
