Looks like it will become known as the 'Bournemouth Rain & Thunder Festival!' :(

Local met says Friday will be the worst of the 4 days with rain most of the day, sometimes heavy. Saturday should be dry for the display times but rain either side of it and a risk of a shower during and also strong southerly winds all day. Thursday high cloud, occasional sun but dry all day, Sunday dry and reasonably sunny all day. NO thunder is forecast.
However, as with all forecasts this could change in a heartbeat and I take no responsibility when it does!
If anyone is coming down, pop into the centre of town and say hi. I will be on the Bournemouth Aviation Museum stand all 4 days, come rain and shine. We also have our Canberra nose down there to look at/in as well as a large stall selling lots of goodies. I'll be the one in some sort of heavy metal t-shirt!
Cheers
Mark

My main concern would be the wind for Saturday- looks pretty savage during the display window. I won't be expecting to see the BBMF/ Sally B/ B-25 that afternoon in all honesty.

The Lancaster flew over me in Northampton this afternoon, heading NE.
Was it running home to avoid tomorrows weather?

Indeed it was I'm afraid, no hangarage available to shelter from the next 2 days of crap weather. The Swordfish also went home straight after its display as it was due to depart after its slot Friday and that slot would not be happening and they didn't want to be stuck at Bournemouth until Sunday.

Latest local met is heavy rain and increasingly stronger winds until 3pm Friday then dry sunny and breezy. Saturday sunshine and showers all day with winds gusting up to 40mph peaking around 4pm.

That's a great shame! Worried about Saturday, Met seem to think that the wind won't be as bad as first thought!

Red Arrows just done a flat display, it's a bit breezy on the front but sunny.

Good display this afternoon- especially considering the weather.

Nice flat display from the Red Arrows, and some lovely lighting when the sun broke through.

Couldn't agree more. The roar round the bay and the light from the burners was fantastic.

Nice firework display at 10 last night- ships out in the bay lit up like Xmas trees.

Sounds like things got pretty dicy with the wind and high tide though- concert was abandoned at 10.45 with reports of waves breaking over the fencing, and the concert has already been abandoned for tonight.

This afternoons flying canceled owing to the wind forecast. Hoping to run the Night Air section
