Just a wee heads up but the Mound car park is currently close to all traffic with large boulders across the entrance and exit. Not sure if will still be the same come show day.

And will remain closed indefinitely due to the Caravan Utilising Nomadic Travellers and the local boy racers.

believe that the boulders were only removed for Trumps visit & have now blocked off the car park again.

Mound car park was reopened but have been told that it has since been sealed off again by the council. Police have also stated there will be road restrictions leading to the mound on the Friday and Saturday. Not looking good for mass parking at the mound this year , unless they reopen it on the Thursday before the show dates.

The long look weather looks not bad for the weekend of the show.

Friday low cloud with showers and some showers during the evening
Saturday looks like it could be a scorcher clear skies and all day sunshine though showers arriving early evening
Sunday - All day rain

Going by what the week after the show is like with heavy rain then it could be a wet weekend in store if the weather front arrives early.

Week leading upto the show is set to be wet also , So pack those waterproofs just incase.

In Prestwick, there will also be restrictions on either side of Shawfarm Road (along its whole length) and Shaw Road (from Shawfarm Road to the Airport perimeter).

Mound car park CLOSED and no parking at all for those of us wanting to get to the mound.

USAF had been in touch with organizers in regards to bringing over certain airframes for the Friday night static shoot. No one took them up on the offer and looks like they have lost out on some nice airframes that would have made a nice night shoot. Also hearing team Bronco have also pulled out though that one not fully confirmed yet.

It is good that they are opening the car park for a fee on the Saturday. But like the waddo viewing area a toilet and a few burger vans pay your £5 and away you go. Should be open on the Friday in my book also as would be a good wee money maker for the council or show organisers. Also means a toilet and a burger van can't beat that.

Just over 2 days until the show...Who is all going and who has all bought the night shoot tickets.

Not been there biggest supporter this year mostly down to the way the night shoot was handled and made my feeling known to 1 or 2 organizers but never got anywhere.Having just looked at the website they have not yet sold out any of the time slots for the night shoot which kind of makes my argument valid as they have lost money in the way they have set it up IMO.

Anyway for a free show they have done well with the B25 , P51 and the Norway historical flight. Really do think that next year they could do far better in way tickets are sold for various parts of the show. I understand it was a new team that has came in early 2016 and took over the show and where dealing with getting more cargo flights into the airport and at same time get the show up and running.

For what they have achieved I think is good and for what they could have achieved I think is a learning curve for next year,

So for this year I will be taking the show as it is and enjoying the aircraft I mentioned and hoping this is a stepping stone to what should be better things in 2017.

Well, I shall be there on the Saturday only (conflicting event on the Friday evening sadly) but as a volunteer as I have been for the last 3 years.
There have definitely been changes in management, the regulatory environment, what PIK was willing to offer/go along with etc. this year.

Anyway, if you see a fat, long-haired, speccy, middle-aged guy in a Staff/Volunteer hi-viz working the crowd line on the beach on the Saturday say Hi! as it will be me. :)
