Sub-divisions of Current Military Photography
Sub-divisions of Current Military Photography
Could we possibly have two sub-divisions of Current Military Photography, please? That would be one for Exercises and one for Deployments.
That one of the very recent threads was titled "Yet more F-22s" says it all!! Current MIl does get rather clogged up with a overload of such posts and I am thinking that it might be a good idea to group them together and split them out.
What do other members think??

Re: Sub-divisions of Current Military Photography
Interesting idea but i fear to many sub-forums will lead to some posts being ignored.
An idea that has been looked at in the past is Exercise/Deployment specific sections for the duration that they are running. This would mean all posts specific to the exercise/deployment would be kept in there and allowing the non-related posts not to get pushed to the wayside. Once completed, those sections can be merged back in to the normal section.
Thoughts?

I take it, Adam, that you mean to have it as a "sticky" until (say) a week or two after the exercise/deployment has finished?
If so, that fits in with my idea - so, yes.

Re: Sub-divisions of Current Military Photography
Sort of a sticky, maybe a whole section for the Ex - photo's, updates, movements etc. At least no excuses for everything in the right place that way! Certainly one to ponder on as, like you, i think there were plenty of posts worthy of notice that may have been swamped by the masses of F-22 shots (not that those were bad!)
Re: Sub-divisions of Current Military Photography
As someone with several gzillion images, might it be an idea to limit each post to five? I suppose it depends upon server capacity.
Either in the main division &/or each sub-division [? underwater camera required ?]

Seems fair to me, personally I got a little peeved at all the pics of the 22s and knowing I couldn't get to see them myself!...................Zymurgy661 wrote:Interesting idea but I fear too many sub-forums will lead to some posts being ignored.

One of the main reasons that I have for posting mine, beefsteak, is that some people cannot get time off to see the aircraft but can sit looking at images at home.
That said, there can be rather a lot, hence my suggestion to ask people to post just a few per person.
I do love these emoticoms. Restricted to ten, it would seem
