just a shame it is on the same weekend as the Airpower in Zeltweg is, which certainly attracts a lot of teams
due to its main sponsor Red Bull :'(

Information now on website confirming a night show (5-10pm) on Friday 2nd with participation from the Blades, aerosparx and undisclosed american warbirds. Royal Marines beach assault also confirmed for Saturday, hopefully without police intervention this time.

American warbirds are the Hangar 11 Mustang and RNLAF Historic Flight B-25 'Sarinah'

Consensus is airport pulled the plug, no official reason given yet though. Supposedly it could be back next year.

One side is saying the airport pulled the plug. From people I've spoken to, it's more to do with how much money it cost the organisers to stage at the airport.

Well it can't be because it hasn't been well attended, if the last couple of Years are anything to go by.

Have heard it is £100 a head for a 1 hour night shoot at Prestwick and this is included in the Ultimate package.Surely this is milking it to the extremes.

I am a old Leuchars airshow man had been going there for 30 years and there package was £120 for 2 full days Friday and Saturday. This included early night static with no barriers. So for £20 less I would only get 1 hour on base and all of this would be weather dependent of course.

To me this is massively over priced for the aircraft they currently have on offer.

There response to this as I asked them why the Friday night photoshoot was not on a separate package.

"We keep the Airshow at the low green inclusive so that anybody can attend no matter what they can or cannot afford, but we look for those that can afford something to contribute to making it happen.
If everybody decided to just take the freebies and get as much as poss for nothing at TSIA 2016 then TSIA 2017 will simply not happen."]

I actually find this insulting that people must pay £100 so that others can attend a free airshow on the saturday at the Beach.

Surely if they had the right sponsorship in place they would not be in this mess.

Can anyone confirm the car parking prices at "The Mound" this year ?
And will it be for both days?

£5 per day parking in the large car park next to the mound , I have a funny feeling arrivals are thursday this year as they have the American warbirds flying on the Friday evening with rumours of a Liberator also attending (only a rumour at this stage).

I would love to see it but as there are only two airworthy ones and both are booked up in the States on the 2nd, I don't see how that can physically happen unless they cancel their planned tour dates over there.
Cheers

Is there anyone here who paid the Ultimate ticket last year which is suppose to give you the best spot for photography. If so could you please post a photo from the area showing what sort of angles you where getting from the spot.

I grudge paying £100 for a 1 hour night shoot as would not go to the Ayr beach front as for me is way over crowded and fighting for space.

Much obliged

Scott
