Runway starts this Monday, so no R31 (Rhosneigr) or R13 (Fraggle Rock) for a while

Best viewing is 19 (spotters) or a long walk to 01 (beach). Please be aware that the beach end it can be hard to see the boundary fence due to shifting dunes and trespassing on the base will be quickly dealt with.

My suggestion is Fraggle Rock in the afternoon as the sun has moved around. R19 is very nice and some
Nice shots to be had.

Is the viewing area okay in the morning regarding the sun?

Hi Ian

R19 spotters car park is good viewing all day, sun can be a challenge but can also be worked around. Eg in the afternoon be at the end of the car park nearest the base and you will be less effected by sunlight on the piano keys.

Cheers

Hi - sorry if I am being dense.

So is there no flying @ Valley Apr- July?
We are coming up to Anglesey, 1st week June, so I guess no flying then?

Thanks

Don't worry, there will still be plenty to see as the Hawks will continue to operate from the shorter runway 01/19, though there will be days when crosswinds will prevent this. Both runways will be closed briefly towards the end of the current NOTAM period as the intersection is resurfaced. Expect the Hawks to be making more use of their brake chutes.

Any reason for the runway closure Reptile? Ground training or issue with the tarmac?

It seems to be "Remedial Repair Work", about 4-6 weeks has been quoted not sure if that is solely tarmac or tarmac and familiarisation etc with new layout etc :(
If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

Surely they will use the other runway if the weather is within limits?

With only one runway available, there are days, particularly at this time of year, when 01/19 will be out of crosswind limits for student pilots.
