Re: RNAS Yeovilton Air Day 2013
The Themes For Air Day 2013 have Been Announced.
Teamwork
At RNAS Yeovilton we pride ourselves in our Teamwork to safely deliver military aviation capability through the combined efforts of a range of people across the Air Station. From Guards to Logisticians, Pilots to Cooks, Observers to Medics, Air Traffic Control to Fitness Instructors, Maintainers to Administrators as well as our Industrial Partners and Civil Servants. People work together collaboratively to make Yeovilton such a successful part of the MoD, the Royal Navy and the local community.
Visitors to Air Day will see Teamwork at first hand both in the air and on the ground. The flying display will include UK/Foreign military and civilian display teams as well as the resident squadrons performing spectacular role demonstrations such as the famous Commando Assault Finale. The ground displays will showcase modern Royal Navy assets and equipment, and the qualities skills and professionalism of Royal Navy personnel working as a team to provide Front Line support to protect our Nation’s interests.
Battle of the Atlantic 70th Anniversary
The Royal Navy played a vital role in the Battle of the Atlantic to secure the nation’s seaborne lifelines and defeating the German U-boats during World War II. That battle, described by Winston Churchill as “the dominating factor all through the war”, reached its climax in the spring of 1943 when Allied forces sank 43 German submarines wiping out a quarter of the enemy’s front-line strength. The Royal Navy Historic Flight’s Swordfish LS326, a veteran of the Atlantic struggle and currently painted in her Battle of the Atlantic livery, will take part in the flying display along with other aircraft to commemorate this anniversary.

Why do people insist on posting secret squirrel messages?
If you know something post it up.
If you dont want to share the 'knowledge' then keep it off the boards and just share it within your 'willy waving, all knowing club'.

If you can't share it, don't say anything.....pretty simple really.

I can't speak for others but I appologise If my comment was miss-leading or was taken as me being a 'know-all', it was not ment as such.
I made the comment in innocence to hopefully keep up interest in the forthcoming air day as I believe there was a good deal of dissapointment with last years show.
I would like to think that if you asked my 'Spotter mates' I keep them informed as much as I can.
As for Dunks comment about 'Willy-waving'......well....If I had a big one like Dunks then I would certainly be waving......
