In the 1970s when B.A.C. later to become B.A.E. Systems was collaborating with both German and Italian companies on the design and construction of the
MRCA.later to become the Tornado. Visiting Test Pilots flew into Warton with some interesting aircraft F104s F4, G91s The Starfighter after the Lightning,
was one of my favourite aircraft.

One of the regular visitors to Warton was the F4 Phantom in fact our recent Director Of Flight OPs was a Phantom jockey as were several other Test Pilots. Although most of the visiting Phantoms were RAF we also had German visitors too.

Another of the regular visitors to Warton was the Hawker Hunter, well over 100 were manufactured at Hawkers Factory at Squires Gate
Blackpool.

A number of Warton's present day Test Pilots fly Hunters at Kemble and other UK venues. below is an interesting sites with lots of interesting comments from former Pilots. http://www.aviastar.org/air/england/hawker_hunter.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Ok as of 21.7.2015

What would we do without Tankers, over the years Warton has been graced by quite a few I remember seeing the Buccaneer
Buddy Buddy Tankers, but in the main it has been the occasional Tristar but mostly VC 10s and not forgetting Ghost 51 the
callsign used by the USAF Tankers doing trials with IPA 5 in 2009.

We have watched various Typhoons and GR 4s going from Warton to meet the new Voyager Tanker over recent days below
is a thread with all the interesting facts. I understand that the Voyager may well do a flyby with a Typhoon over Warton in the near future unless it done it without it being reported.

When I first came live in Warton in 1964 the first aircraft I saw was not a jet but a Search & Rescue Wessex
Helicopter it was based at Warton and flew when BAC test aircraft were airborn the Pilot was Fred Ritchie.
Over the years many types of helicopters have flown into Warton. here are a few you tube videos to peruse.

Of all the iconic aircraft based at Warton over the years I was surprised to realise I had not mentioned the
Blackburn Buccaneer which was used for a variety flying tasks at Warton. I have now rectified this by finding the below history on You-Tube which I had previously not seen.

Of all the aircraft that have graced the skies over Warton it is appropriate as we near the 70th Anniversary of The
Dambusters Raid to include The Avro Lancaster.

Off to the Colonies. You mean British Dependent Territories. We have had a few C-17s lately but no C-17 has landed at
RAF Gibraltar today.

Carol Voderman has become a frequent visitor to Warton in her Piper PA 28 and I understand than when she attempts to fly

around the World in her aircraft Warton is involved.
