Hi, I'm Jon, returning to the hobby after a few years, having spent much time in the early 90s watching at MH & LN. At the moment i can't find my old Yuperitu scanner, which is driving me nuts, so i might need to seek collective help available here before selecting a new scanner.
I'm now based near Bristol, so i'll have to put up with mostly civvy traffic until i can organise a few trips out, but really enjoying the pics and posts i manage to go through in my lunch hour!!
Please be prepared for some basic level questions to start with - i'm trying to catch up on the missing years!
Thanks, Jon T

Hi,

After rekindling a love of photography, in the last year or so, and shooting aircraft at Duxford, I've started lurking around my locals (Lakenheath, Mildenhall and Marham). FC has been instrumental in me getting some lovely shots of A-10s, F-16s and the new RAF F-35Bs.

Thanks for all your help so far :)

Hi all. I've been registered here a while but never posted. I've been reading mainly for RIAT and Duxford news before I signed up. After treating myself to a new lens and spending the morning at Lakenheath and Mildenhall I thought I'd say hi.

Hi Richie

Welcome on FC.
Please note you need to make 5 posts before you have access to things like "Heads up" and and special sections of deployments etc,
Exercise Cobra Warrior for instance is staring at Coningsby next week and is worth keeping your eye on that section.

Hi Everyone,
I don't consider myself a Spotter at the moment (although in my younger days I definitely was!). I'm more of an Amateur Photographer with a love of Aviation as a subject.
My first ever airshow was back in the 80's if my memory serves me right, Alconbury, it was that long ago the F-5E Aggressors were flying that hot and sunny day.
Living in Milton Keynes I used to get my kicks watching the F-111E 's and the EF-111A Spark Varks flying over my house on the way back to Upper Heyford, no such cool traffic around here these days ! We get the odd Apache, Merlins and Chinooks passing over but I cannot remember the last time I saw a fast jet over here.
I have not visited an airshow for a long while, but I have been to the last three RIAT events, but just on the arrival Thursday.
Anyway, Thanks for letting me join !!!

Thanks for letting me join! I am a Dutch military airplane enthusiast. Grew up close to Soesterberg AB, NL. Have spent many many hours along the fence to watch the F-4E and later the F-15. Base is now closed for air traffic. But still worthwhile visiting for the National Military Museum, situated at the base.

Just signed up and I'm very excited to be here. I'm quite new to all this buy after seeing the 225 landing at Brize I'm hoping to get out and see some more planes :)

Hi all at FighterControl!

I'm Kishor from Birmingham. Been into military aircraft since I was 13yrs old, after watching a Discovery Channel programme that included the SR-71 Blackbird, the love affair started then! Missed out on seeing her fly though :'(
Last few years been able to visit some amazing places with the wife ( lucky chap I know!)
- Duxford, Cosford, Fairford, Marham, Lakenheath, Coningsby and Mach Loop Cad West twice so far. Recently went to my first airshow at RIAT 2018 - amazing!
Glad to have finally joined this site. It has always been useful as a valuable source to know if there is anything exciting at Fairford for example, worth the 2hr drive for us!
Every time I chat to fellow spotters at the above places, though I can't afford the expensive camera gear, everybody is friendly always. A testament to this fantastic hobby that all of us love. :thumb:

Hopefully may bump into some of you guys - I'll be wearing probably a t-shirt with a Blackbird on it!

New to the forum but not new to the industry, have been working in aviation for a while and attend many shows excluding RIAT (first time next year) and have a keen interest in military and commercial aviation photography.

About to invest in some new kit for next year as most of the smaller shows I have attended didn't need longer lenses, so this will be a who new experience for me :-)
