Atlantique is a great shame.

Still, absolutely fantastic line up. :thumb:

A shame its gone but not going to be missed. Tame display with repositioning manoeuvres over Brize and South Cerney... opened up a useful toilet break on su day at least IMO.

Still great job all round DBH :thumb:

Chipmunk, Camel and Cub all slipped in around 19:10 as we were in the car park. Two patient spotters still in West then waiting for them.

Lots of disappointment re: Atlantique. Lovely aircraft with ridiculously slow props and tremendous vortices which we were hoping to see in more humid air.

Hope the German Transall arrives tomorrow to give us a Tyne fix.

If its the same five that were at Waddington the other day, Ab910 is the extra one. This is green/grey camo with invasion stripes so easily recognisable.

G-GMAD Beechcraft B.350ER Shadow R.1, Royal Air Force (Static)
Believe this is just a standard B350, not yet converted to shadow configuration. Should be in Gama Aviation colours.

"Still, absolutely fantastic line up. :thumb:" sorry, mate, but no, not at all. Yes there are jets, big and small, and prop types to please those that 'em (I do) but the spread is really bland. I know the various drop outs are for valid reasons but let's not fool ourselves, it is a pretty homogenised, grey bunch that is left ....... :(

Disappointed of Sussex :(

Don't worry too much. The C17 only has to hop accross the fields to get to Fairford. Hope it does turn up. some other stragglers to come tomorrow I expect.

Cheers

I couldn't echo that any louder if I tried. I really don't understand some folk. Yes, the future is less aircraft and those we have will be mainly grey, but Jesus Christ people lighten up!

It's RIAT week. Some people and even those in the flying machines call this the best airshow in the world. Be grateful and enjoy the show!

I like grey and jet-like. So good for me.

Im not a massive fan of old, painted up or prop.

If you send me £500 you can have mine right now, plus my accommodation. Going to RIAT isn't just about the ticket price, it's a big commitment in time and money and one that I don't think I'll be making again.

Will post arrival times when we get the sheet this morning.

You are all entitled to your view, as am I. As turmo says, it is big commitment in time and money. I've attended since 1974 (missed the first) and I appreciate that it can only be a reflection of current operations. No offence meant to anyone. It is just not what it once was .... Maybe I'm just getting old! ;)
