Appalling news, very sad indeed. There are shocking stories every day in the press, what on earth is happening to this country, minimal police, drug gangs, knives, weak sentencing IF any criminals are caught. What happened to the rules and discipline of the past, why has it come to this? What does the future hold, is there a light in this tunnel?

If they catch the perpetrators then they should be hung, drawn and quartered,

I volunteer to hang them! :grr:

Unfortunately they have rights; years of campaigning by do-gooders has seen to that.
If ever caught they'll probably end up serving 7 years at the most.

In my book, these people have no rights, they abdicated that right once they descended into the vile depths they now inhabit. Once caught they should be handed over to the army, no loose ends !
The hand -wringing do-gooders have a lot to answer for.

Would happily pay more tax to have a well run NHS and see coppers on the beat! Sadly there is not a politician in this country that i can trust to sort this out!

Arab. I agree with a lot that you say. I am sure there is a politician who has the guts to put up taxes; problem is he/she would lose their job at the following General Election, because putting up taxes is NOT a vote winner, unfortunately!!!.

What a time we live in eh! The people who constant complain regarding the state of the country, are more than likely the very same people who would not pay more tax for a safer, healthier life.

Gents, there is also a rather strong argument that funds raised via all forms of taxation could be spent more wisely ... and that the recipients of such funds could ensure less wastage and overspending in their respective organisations. It is talked about, but does anything actually change?
