Just found out
. What a passion he had for fishing and keeping it simple. Remember buying go fishing tapes to watch.

Used to watch his fishing programme every week when we lived in Thetford in the 70's.

Very sad loss.

Met him many times: top, top bloke; real WYSIWYG guy :thumbs:

I still cherish the 2 Carp rods he made for me back in the 80's :thumb:

Sad to hear this. I use to like the way he always 'posed' his photos with some wild flower or such to show the size of the fish.

yes and have a book signed by him had a great laugh with him in his shop many years ago

John was a childhood favourite of mine who's books and programmes were always a go to reference for tips on fishing, many of them are still put to good use today!
