Leslie Grantham aka Dirty Den, had passed away.
I went to a Dad's Army play at the Derngate Theatre in Northampton several years ago and Leslie stood in, at short notice, to play Private Walker. He absolutely stole the show. Brilliant actor.
Off stage, dodgy internet goings on and a conviction for murder blotted his book somewhat.
