0330bst.
Should England progress further, please think of us poor sods on early shifts. Don't go racing out in your cars at 2230 blowing your horns!

Hard enough to sleep in this weather.
Rant over and glad they squeaked through another round.

Mike.

Thank heavens for the Columbian player who fouled Harry Kane in the penalty area. Without that foul, England would have lost. It was, despite all the furore, a poor performance by England, who have been unable to score a goal in three and a half hours of normal play. The team will have to start scoring normal goals in order to progress further, and on last nights performance that looks pretty unlikely!!.

I feel sorry for Mrs Delph "Sorry love you'll have to look after the baby - I'm going back to play footy with the lads"!

I'll take the bait, I don't do your "normal". :D

If the game is played to your "normal" there would be no fouls, everything will be squeaky clean and there would be no need for a referee, which means there would be no game because what's the point of the game without a contest governed by rules overseen by a ref.

The goal was scored by a talented player because your "normal" is a nonsense. The cherry on the cake was the penalty shoot-out, England was triumphant and the St George's flag is flying above 10 Downing Street. Any talking down or minimizing England's win is … go figure.

Yes, I take your point, but we still seem to be unable to score goals!!!!!!!!. As I said, over 3 hours, and we can only score penalties!. Incidentally, I am as patriotic as can be, but I am also a realist. :)

2 goals v Tunisia from corners, a result of "normal play"

4 goals (out of 6 scored) v Panama, "normal play"

6 out of 9 goals have not been scored from the penalty spot. Can't argue with that tbh! It's also like saying "If Colombia didn't have that corner, they wouldn't have equalised!" (Very Owen-esque, haha!) End of the day, we've got to where we have, and deserved it no doubt. Colombia had extremely dirty mind tactics, with little footballing ability.

P.S. It's coming home ;)

Yes, the new battle cry "It's Coming Home"!

Summer in England and sunshine all round, cold beer in the fridge, breast of lamb on the BBQ - how content is our valley! :D  ;)

Times are very good now - A sunny Yeovilton coming up followed by a hot RIAT (Hopefully!), what's not to enjoy right now?!

Very well played Belgium tonight. I did tip them as a possible dark horse before a ball was kicked. Come on England ! for tomorrow.

A fantastic achievement by the England team. Pickford made some excellent saves. Glad to see England score from open play and a corner. Just maybe it might be time to believe the unbelievable.

Well done England

Learned a new song today , seems to only have two words : On and And
First line goes "On and On " and repeat for about 10 minutes and take a rest or go to the bogs.

I see that some England 'fans' are doing what they do best. Getting drunk out of their heads, smashing up other peoples property, and displaying a very low intelligence level.
My Grandaughter was at Silverstone for a fantastic G.P. yesterday. 140.000 people there, and no violence, trashing of property, or policemen to be seen. Terrific drive by Lewis. Oh, well done England, keep doing it, but how I hate the tribalism that is associated with it!!!.
