Just a question when we visit Coningsby we pass through scrub hill. hawthorne hill and see the sign for chapel hill. The surrounding countryside is flat, anyone knows where the names come from.

My guess any inclination can possibly be classed as a hill? perhaps more so if the surrounding area is relatively flat..probably draw a line at a compost heap or worse still, fly tipping spot...(couldn't resist) hope that helps :)

Always remember my arrival at Marham in 82, when somebody said "There's only one hill in Norfolk, and some idiot built a runway up the side of it..."
RAF Narborough, great times.
