Post by airfixpilot » Sat Apr 21, 2018 1:01 pm

With time to spare, I have been listening to old TV theams and some old program's.

There were some classic TV from when I was much younger then and some are repeated on TV gold.

If your old enough like me, which Were your favourite?.

Pooh :O

Where to start, as an old frat

Department S: Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased): Magpie (Spencer Davis Group): Hazel (Maggie Bell): Gangsters: The Persuaders: Skorpion (superb and underrated), but I will have to plump for Edge of Darkness played superbly by Eric Clapton and Michael Kamen (I still have the record and CD versions) :Wow:

You have started me off on one now

Besides the usual kids Favourites, eg Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet & UFO, & the rest from Gerry Anderson stock. I used to like but a few , Alias Smith & Jones, The Champions, Voyage to the bottom of the sea, Six million dollar man and The Bionic Woman. CHIPS , Randell and Hopkirk deceased. The list is endless. I think there should be a channel for re-runs of such great programs. Oh, Different strokes (What you talking about Willies?)

Also the tunes to so many of them are SO recognisable, take CHIPS, Hawaii five o, and The Avengers.

As well as Gold have a look at some of the Freeview channels, they run a lot of the old shows. The Drama channel is quite good but there are others if you hunt through. Three of the things I have caught up with is the Avengers with Diana Rigg, Mash and the US comedy Hogan's Heroes.

Goodness, didn't know there were so many aged members who remember the old shows. The Avengers with Diana Rigg wow what a girl in black leather catsuit (Alfie?). Who remembers the prisoner with Patrick Mcgoohan, and the weird balloons? The Time Tunnel & lost in space ( now revamped on Netflix). Land of the giants anyone? I am talking 60s 70s era.
Mobile Army Surgical Hospital M*A*S*H.

Kids programs like Animal magic, Crackerjack, Swapshop, Magpie ( which was the ITV Blue Peter) and more like The Double Deckers, Black Beauty.

For Sports fans on Saturday it was Grandstand (BBC), Frank Bough & World of Sport with Dicky Davies, with Wrestling at 4pm , with stars like Mick Mcmanus, Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks before the football result at 5pm

Such Great TV then :thumb:

Remember the World of Sport Wrestling very well with the great 'hello grappling fans' Kent Walton. We were discussing this a while back and remembering some of the names from the ring at the time. Mick McManus, Jackie Pallo, Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks, The Royle Brothers, Kendo Nagasaki, Billy Two Rivers, Johnny Kwango, Les Kellett, Adrian Street, Abe Ginsberg and even Harvey Smith..!

Airwolf, Knight Rider, A-Team. As for comedies, Steptoe & Son,It ain't half hot mum,You rang my lord, only Fools, Fawlty Towers, Rising Damp ,Alf Garnett, Porridge, Bottom. A couple I'm sure I missed. But a cracking Welsh comedy called High Hopes it was brilliant!
