Heads up . . . incoming!
From #Weird@Solarastro_network-US 02 24 2018
Weird object !
Scientists have discovered another strange object which is presently heading through our solar system.
Although little information has been released about the size , it is thought to be in a hyperbolic orbit
moving at about 200 miles a second and on its present course will come within one Lunar Distance [LD]
of Earth.
What is weird is that it appears to be radiating some form of radio emmission which is how it was first
discovered , by the Tinihanga [ Maori . . "Fooled" ]Radio Telescope Array.
It is thought that the discovery took place some weeks ago , but only recently have details emerged.
Present predictions are that it should make its closest approach as soon as March 1 . By then the
emissions could well affect some telecoms signals , including those satellites in geostationary orbit.
In fact there is concern that even some military and commercial satellite TV transmissions could be badly
disrupted , mid morning , around 10.00 UTC on that day.
As things stand , the object should leave our solar system just after midnight UTC March 31st .[April 1 ]
It was only last October that a similar object passed through our solar system.
This one , dubbed Object F/2018 001 should give scientists an even closer view now that it is within
radar range.
For the record scientists have named the object "haereere noa" the Maori word for wanderer .
The fact that the wanderer was not spotted earlier has caused some concern amongst experts.
One is quoted as saying that it was unlikely that amateur observers would be able to see it using "back
yard" telescopes , but one never knows! The question is , how many more undetected wanderers are near
by.
Many think that should a large object be identified on a collission course for Earth , there would be
little point in alerting the general populus as it would simply generate widespread panic and rioting.
Weird !
...and we think we have problems with the Beast from the East heading our way
Edit... April 1

No further info as yet , all the media want to talk about is the "Beast from the East" !
Re: Heads up . . . incoming!
Excuse my ignorance, what is a lunar distance?
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.

LD is the mean distance between Earth and the Moon.
About 385,000 km.
About 385,000 km.

If it comes near here it will get stuck in the snow.

Re: Heads up . . . incoming!
Here's a link to some other objects coming our way.
https://cneos.jpl.nasa.gov/ca/
Co-incidentally the "Wanderer" passed by during the period of some pretty nasty storms both here and in the US , which caused power outages etc.
We know that the position of the Moon controls our tides and to some extent , the weather , so it begs the question , what happens if an object passes between Earth and the Moon , especially at a time when the Moon is full , does it have any effect on tides?

How big was this object?
I'd have thought that it would have to be very large if it was going to affect tides etc.
