Hi Baz1
That is what happens when contracts get hived off to private firms, who think more of paying divis to their shareholders than paying their staff, bills, doing the job right, etc., etc.,

Re: lincoln bypass
Not sure if the bypass was intended to be either single road or dual carriageway, or a mix as per the rest of the A46.
Perhaps someone in the know could please confirm?
Often the single bypass (as the other sections of the A46 bypass at both lincoln and Newark) act as more of a choke point.

Re: lincoln bypass
its supposed to be single starting from the north end of the existing A46 bypass less than a mile away from were I live heading south up towards RAF Waddington joining the A15, have been watching it closely since the start and considering from what I have seen very slow progress no bulldozers carving there way across the fields or earth movers or scrapers nothing heavy you would expect with building a new road, network rail put a complete new 600 tonne bridge in in 72hrs for the new bypass to go under brilliant bit of engineering that was. there was a video of it been done on the lincolnite echo website

This is what happened at Potters bar in 2002. Jarvis were contracted by Network Rail to manage the Track & didn't do the job properly. Sadly 7 died & 76 injured when a A four-carriage West Anglia Great Northern train travelling at 96mph from London to Kings Lynn in Norfolk went over a faulty set of pointspaddyboy wrote:Hi Baz1
