Woke to a crisp white landscape. Currently(07.48) temp is -6 with a wind chill predicted to be -9. Roads like sheets of ice. Been up since 7am & only 3 cars have gone past(normally well into double figures by this time). All Schools in my area closed. No refuge collections today, bin men put on gritting duties. Will clear/rock salt our front path just in case Postie/Couriers do get through.

Gotta love the Welsh Assembly & their radical policies? Liking the concept of Refugee collections, but I fear it's just Refuse? ;)

A little birdie tells me much colder, potentially wintry conditions are incoming off an increasingly colder mainland?

Get set from about a week or so, when the word snow could be mentioned more often. All could change but current thoughts are this could be headline making stuff for quite a few. Spring ain't gonna spring just yet! Don't put the thermals away just yet :thumb:

It looks like heavy snow for Thursday/Friday starting in the South and moving North. Of course, that's on top of what we get before then!

Paddy, you're probably working as I write; 'poofta-shnee', powder-snow, what we skiers dream for. I'm off to Aviemore next Sunday for the week. Last year there wasn't any of the stuff and I spent a couple of dull days Lossiemouth instead. First visit to Loss in the 1970s was quite the opposite: Jags, Gannets, Shakledraggers and ott Vulcans and a NL Neptune; where I became hooked for summer activities!
Roger
Edit. forgetting the thread; it's not snowing in the southern Lakes yet. Back to the forecast.

Roger: feeling rather smug, actually

I have taken early retirement and no longer have to prowl the streets at silly o'clock at the mercy of all the local mongrels (4 legged as well as 2) :Wow:

Has been snowing on and off most of the day , the garden even tried to turn white at one point ,but it sooner remembered that it was in Surrey and it all disappeared again.
