Hopefully we can keep any lead below 350 and we might have a chance.

Batting very well. Knocking the confidence out of the Australians, particuarly as they failed to review an LBW shout (umpire - not out) against Cook, would have been given, hitting leg stump half way up full on, not "umpires call".
51-0 at 07.05GMT.

Australian side and particuarly captain getting very wound up, lovingly assisted by the friendly "Barmey Army".
Lost all reviews, none left.
Malan just bowled out, 169 - 4, 185 more to win. Less than 10 minutes to go today.

Gutted

Woke up at six , switched on the radio to hear Tuffers talking about Root building partnerships before I realized I was listening to highlights and the match was over!

So there has been another incident with an England related cricket player not knowing how to behave himself.

Perhaps he too should be kicked from the sport for good.

I would have thought that a potential England player and even a senior player should not be out drinking after midnight. I suppose partying is more important than representing your country.

It's just indicative of the yob culture invading the game.

And before anybody jumps down my throat I speak from experience as a player at a reasonably high level and also a an umpire of 30 years experience in the Halifax, Saddleworth and Central Lance Leagues. Also a mate of mine who is a coach driver and refuses to transport cricket teams because of drunken behaviour.

Lets start at 131 for four wickets with the first 4 top flight batsman out. Is this make believe an unbroken 5th wicket parternship taking the score to 305 for 4 wickets with David Malan on 110 not out and Jonny Bairstow 75 not out.

Well done guys you have done England proud.

And survived the first 9 overs with the new ball. Starc in particular often over 92mph, others very close behind.
Cook's LBW looked like pure pace (Starc, 93mph). We don't have any body that close to this, so can't even practice against it, unless bowling machine and then probaly not at your head. Not the same the Ashes in the WACA.

Was fairly optimistic early this morning. If we can get Smith out early tomorrow before the new ball then we might have a slim first innings lead with Australia batting last.

Get Smith out.

Marsh M just completed his 100 . He kissed his helmet - I didn't know he could do that!
