Yep, now looking like a 10 wicket defeat. I had a feeling the first test was going end this way.
We’re missing a certain someone?
Has anyone been watching on BT Sport, what’s the coverage been like?

Do you mean the yobbish thug who fights people in the street? If so lets hope we've seen the last of him for good!burleysway wrote:We’re missing a certain someone?

No, I haven't got BT Sport, and the loss from Sky of the Ashes, Big Bash, Champions League and USPGA golf (which the BBC covered badly) is why I'm binning Sky when I move house. The lack of any free-to-air highlights along with the England team's performance are just contributing further to the death of one of my favourite sports. By that I mean Test cricket not the 20/20 format.Has anyone been watching on BT Sport, what’s the coverage been like?

BT have done well in my opinion, watched quite a bit.

They've got to be better than Channel 9 anyway!

People playing for national teams in any sport, along with celebrities in general are now, for all the wrong reasons in my opinion, the role models for the youth of today.burleysway wrote:ChrisCwmbran wrote:Do you mean the yobbish thug who fights people in the street? Accordingly society should require their behaviour to be whiter than white. Being a violent thug is not acceptable in any way and I think should be more than enough to end a career.

Agreed, why should the ECB pay this sort of money to an idiot who has been warned before:

Somebody who picked up £1.7 million from the IPL this year.
It's just not cricket
Many pro footballers have been cast aside for similar reasons.

I believe they should all have to pay their own air fare home, then be paraded around Lords in public, in disgrace.

There could more to this than it first appears. Local news reported he stopped two others from getting a good kicking. I think had Stokes been playing we would still have been in the game with a chanceChrisCwmbran wrote:Do you mean the yobbish thug who fights people in the street? Embarrassing defeat but expected. Next stop Adelaide, the city of churches. Being a day/night test that should favour our bowlers.

Re Stokes
His England career may be in limbo, but according to the national press this morning that wont stop him playing in the Indian Premier League next year and pocketing a £2million pay cheque. Nice work if you can get it.

I gather the whole team are imposing a midnight curfew on themselves to avoid bad behaviour due to alcohol consumption.
The fact they feel the need to do that suggests they are all just weak minded yobs to me.

OK so please provide a constructive, well presented justification for alleged world-class sportsmen needing to be drinking alcohol well after midnight and then having to play world class sport.
Then the logical-thinking ones who are condemning those representing their country might be able to reconsider their views.
