Flying Scotsman to Norwich 18/10
According to media reports the flying Scotsman leaves Ely station at 17:30 to Norwich.
Will pass through Lakenheath and Brandon stations.
Fits in nicely with the arrival of the last two SJ Eagles at Lakenheath!

According to http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk:
Due to pass Lakenheath at 17:58 and Brandon 18:04
Return will be by diesel while Flying Scotsman stays at Norwich until Saturday afternoon then back to King's Cross via Ely/Cambridge.
Weather forecast not too good for today or Saturday though.

By "stoats" do you mean the trespassing idiots trying to get a better photo than anyone else?

Again from Realtime Trains, it has arrived at Ely albeit 50 mins late. Hopefully can still depart on time...

Quite! Doesn't matter if you get hit by the train as long as you get the shot though!Nighthawke wrote:By "stoats" do you mean the trespassing idiots trying to get a better photo than anyone else?

Re: Flying Scotsman to Norwich 18/10
Anyone know what 'Heritage Diesel' they used
Was it a 47 or 37, as West Coast frequently use these (seen them both at Fort William 'on duty')
Thanks for any info
Patrick

I see from 'uksteaminfo' that the A3 suffered a 'hotbox' at Peterborough; one report heard on Ely station this morning was that 'Scotsman' was towed through to Norwich late last night. I don't know which axlebox ran hot so it remains to be seen if it can be fixed for the weekend.
