Just waiting for the official report on casualties, as media seem to be confused as eye witness reports vary. Helicopter video of Train shows no damage so hopefully the Police can use the cctv on board to trace the person(s) that placed the device

Seems like it was a real botched job (thank the Lord)

Heard there may be some facial injuries and some trampled in the crush to escape :S

Yep good to see the police where on the scene virtualy as it happened same with tv cameras in helicoters filming the passengers being led off the train, Isn't it supprising that an obvious bag with a bucket containing wires clearly hanging down the side of the bucket, left on its own by a door was not reported by passengers on the train during the journey.

Good to hear it was not worse than this and there are no apparent fatalities

Unfortunately in the rush hour it is not always easy to spot these things! Travelling on the tube 2 or 3 times a week during the rush hours it is hard to see the floor due to so many people being crammed in - I carry a laptop bag and cannot put it on the floor most of the time as I cannot reach down to put it there! So to see a bag that somebody has probably been stood over and then obviously got off the train at that door would be difficult. At the time of leaving the train the bucket and wires probably weren't obviously exposed

Plus nowadays people are more interested in their phone / tablet. Managed to get a seat on a less crowded line last week and looked the the passengers opposite and all were on some form of electrical device!!

Cornish Guy

Have you tried the tube at 08.20 on a weekday? I have done London for over 25 years since 1991.

To say sardines have a better life is not darn joking!

I can see that and understand (done tube and train journeys across london a few times).

I think its a Real problem that has No solution - unless every single person who comes into a station and onto a platform then onto a train, was to have their personal belongings checked including a body scanner - They are not going to do that And day Soon.

People really should think before they post.

The majority of people in the specific coach will have had absolutely no chance of seeing the bag in question, let alone being able to assess its content. If you know nothing about a given subject, please don't try to talk about it as if you do. It just results on nonsense.

Cannot see that happening any day - ever. In the morning rush at the bigger tube stations it queues to get onto the line (ie at Victoria to get on the Victoria line to go north) with people held back due to over crowding on the platform (having to wait for 3 trains before being able to get on) - to stop and search everybody would be pandemonium!

I know, thats why its a situation where anything could happen anything from a complete accident to an explosive device, from a fire work prank to a bomb.
