Bye bye Brucie. A true legend has gone as Bruce Forsyth died today at the age of 89

Yes a tv legend - unlike the second rate punks they have on tv now.

RIP Sir.

Yes indeed, the man actually had talent, and a lot of it, singer, dancer, musician, and a reasonable golfer to boot!! and as you say, unlike the muppets that we get now...
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Never really took to Brucie when he was on tv. However in 2011 ( I think ) on the night of the general election I was given the job of driving Bruce home,he lived on Sunningdale golf course. I picked him up from the London Eye pier where he had been working on a TV program on a boat for the BBC. Bruce got in the car and we set off. The boat had not been very well heated and he had been in the colder part of it. He said he going to have words with his agent about accepting the work on his behalf because he had to cancel a golf trip to Florida to do the BBC job,and he was certain it was warmer in Florida !.
He asked for the radio to be switched on so he could listen to the election programs, all the way home he was coming up with one liner jokes as he listened. My best memory of the night was when we pulled up at his house,I commented that his car was not in the garage,he then became very serious for a minute saying that there was no room in the garage as both his electric golf carts were in there fully charged and ready to get him to the first tee in under 5 mins !!! Got to like him on that journey it changed my original feeling towards him.

Never really took to him, but my wife and I dance, and a couple of years ago, on 'Strictly' he sang a duet with the black male singer from the band. He was terrific, and so was his dancing. If only he stuck to that instead of crass jokes. RIP tho'.

I liked the way he could work a live audience on TV.

But I personally thought his material was a bit middle of the road for my taste - not enough cynicism or nob jokes!

Never saw him live but he must have been very entertaining as his long career testified to.
