Hi Dragon,
I looked at the Professional but thought I'd start out with the Atandard and see how I go.

The Drone Show sounds interesting..I'm sure the CAA will bring some sort of legislation out about drones but it's common sense flying.

I had to pack my Phantom away as a Christmas present.

Yes I have been learning with some of the basic models over the past 6 months.
think it will be time next spring to go for a good set up now ive mastered the flying of them.
NEC in Birmingham will be on the cards for sure.

Hi guys.
Dje phantom is ok. I prefer the walkera scout though a wonderful bit of kit with retractable landing skids.also the new hubsan qx400 pro is Prob the best ever I would say.

Not sure just yet, the Phantom3 is nice, I used to duild and fly Rc and build .
thought of building my own quad thou time is just very short with work and the full size Daleks im currently building.

basic quads I have are a Syma x5c, very cheap plus a cheersom cx20, cheap importfrom china, but thry have given me very good flying practice and understanding of the way the fly in diffrent situations and conditions.

even with my old RC flying past I would never go out and buy a very expensive and powerful quad copter drone
and fly it, they are easy to fly with auto return and auto stay on station etc, but I need to know how it flys if any of this fails.
hence ive practiced with basic models without these auto function's.

Slightly off thread but this might be of interest.

I've been playing inside with a basic Hubsan. Good practice whilst the weather is nasty.

Read in the press recently that official bodies are looking into the use of drones as local security assistance.

A week or so ago, I was making my way home via the country route and noted a dark green drone (perhaps a metre in diameter) hovering over the adjacent field.

It then followed me (to my right but still over the field) along the road. Some 50 metres further on I noted a similarly coloured Range Rover tucked away up a slip road - made me wonder what was occurring.

Notice Aldi are selling a nice learner toy one for £49, worth a look to get the hang and feel of
the flying and gain stick time.
good way of getting stick time feel and how they react to wind etc etc, before going out and smashing a few grand
on one into the ground or something like a child.
Be safe.

Hey guys

I am an utter, utter beginner when it comes to drone flying. But I am really fascinated by it and want to be a pro pilot in a year or so.

I was wondering what would be the best beginner drone, cheap and good to learn basics. I would fly it for 2-3 weeks and then move on to some medium level drones. My current top choices (lead by the article on https://dronepedia.xyz/top-10-best-quadcopters-50/) would be:
Cheerson CX-10
Syma X5SC
or Hubsan X4 (H107C).

What do you think? Perhaps some 4th option?

Cheers!
