Helicopter activity

Post by raflec » Mon Apr 27, 2015 6:28 pm

There was a lot of helicopter activity at Leconfield on the afternoon of Monday 27th April.
Approx 1300 a chinook was seen landing at Leconfield. During the afternoon heard at least another 2, but did not see them.
At approx 1700 what looked like a green coloured Sea King but could not verify as seen from a distance. This was followed 10 minutes later by a Gazelle. Approx 30 minutes later a Puma was seen departing Leconfield.
Has anyone any ideas what is going on and is the sign of things to come.

Be very interested in more info on these possibly Seaking HC4s if you see or hear anymore.

It's one of the regular MCT exercises that take place all over the country, Navy assets should include 2 x Lynx HMA8, 2x Sea King HC4 and the previously mentioned Sea King HU5SAR
