Was it launched as a contingency for the F-15s today. There was a recall to base mid morning following concerns about the fog rolling in. With the RAF being on limited service over the Christmas period they may have launched the Quid to buy the Eagles time or help them divert into Europe somewhere where they could return to base from at the earliest opportunity.
