Still working hard on the project. XV244 still at Kinloss Barracks and in good shape and being looked after by a team carrying out regular husbandry tasks. Programme of events growing for 2013 for mobile exhibits, the front end of XV240 on its own trailer being the main one - see website. Now also have a Jet Provost T4 cockpit on loan and on a new trailer and have also just acquired a Vampire T11 cockpit. Still looking for new members who can join through the website for a small monthly fee.

Are you likely to actually get a Sea King?

I note that the Vampire cockpit is XD425 ex-Dumfries museum. Does anyone know where this and the JP are located - possible to view?

Just had a thought, if with the imminent disbandment of 617 in a few months time and if they are by any chance reducing the number of GR.4s (if they are that is) then why don't the Morayvia Team not try and get one of the 617 Sqdn Special tail Tornado GR.4s?

We have lodged an official interest in acquiring a Sea King when they come up for disposal and we are certainly considering a Tornado and possibly a Buccaneer. Sales of our limited edition VC10 malt whisky are also going well with some still left at Glen Moray in Elgin, 01343 550900, if anyone is interested. Proceeds are being shared equally between Morayvia and the RAF Benevolent Fund.

Because the fleet will be distributed to make up service numbers on other squadrons. Once they reach their end of service life they will be disposed of as they will be handed back to BAe.

Just had to express my extreme delight that the Sea King bid for Morayvia has been successful. Well done to all those involved with the bid - congratulations.

Good luck with the rest of the project.

XV244 will be remaining in her current location for the foreseeable future, a small feasibility study was conducted earlier this year and in essence it is possible to move her to the Morayvia Centre. With the awaited SDSR 2015 details of what is happening to Kinloss Barracks everything has been put on hold.

Morayvia is now open every weekend from 11am to 6pm, (last visitors accepted up to 4pm). We have been out and about already this year with Canberra TT18 WJ721, visiting Gordonstoun School two weeks ago, and she is on the road again this Sunday (15th ) to Gordon Castle in Fochabers.
All other aircraft are open to sit in, that is Vampire T.11 Sea King, Nimrod and Jet Provost with volunteers manning each exhibit, if your thing is Fire Engines we now have 3, again all are accessible. Additional exhibits are being sourced all the time with the recent acquisition of a Micro Biplane Aviation TIGER CUB G-MJSV.
Just to confirm Nimrod XV244 is not accessible but can easily be viewed from the Findhorn Road.

X railmen - In answer to your question, WN957 (Hawker Hunter Mk F5) is now at Morayvia and is being prepped for display. The date when the new display area will be opened will be announced on the Morayvia website and Facebook page.
